Chapter one
Am I dreaming?




Storm and I were having the time of our lives, playing in the sprinklers, getting muddy, and slipping. It was the perfect summer day. Mom came out with some ice-cold lemonade and sandwiches. We gobbled the food as fast as we could, and went back to playing in the mud.
Storm turned to me and said, “Race you to the Big Tree!”
Then a thought louder than a train said, “Don’t go,” But, I didn’t listen, I was too busy having fun.
Soon we made it to the Big Tree, and collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. It was starting to get really windy, and cold, but we didn’t want to go back, because we had just made it there. I heard a big boom… like a car fell out of the sky.
Something- no- somebody crashed into me, and I was knocked backward into the creek.
I couldn’t breathe, I kicked my legs up, but realized I was tangled in something. I bent down, but then I got pulled out of the water, the thing tangled around my legs cutting my skin, warm blood spilling down my legs. I screamed I couldn’t see anything, the hands around my waist gripped tighter.
I was floating, I opened my eyes, everything was black… except… I could see Storm’s blonde hair. I tried to move toward him, but every move I made, made everything seem slower and more like a dream. I tried calling out his name, but no sound came out of my mouth. Then suddenly we were falling, fast. I hit the ground hard on my head and started rolling. Whatever I landed on felt like one big giant rock.
When I got off the ground, I went looking for Storm. It only took a few minutes, but I eventually found him. He was groaning. I bent down to take a look, there was a little blood, but not much. I shook his shoulder.
“Sybil?” he asked.
“Hey, get up,” I said.
I scanned the large space we were in. There was a black room in the far corner.
“Hey, do you see that room?” I asked.
“Uhh… Yeah,”
“Let’s go to it,” I said.
“Ok,” He said.
We started walking towards the room. When I got close enough to the room, I could see some details on the door. A large black bat hung above the door, and a moon above its head, there were also some stars on its wings, and around its body. I could see a small doorbell, so I rang it.
“Hello?” Came a voice from inside.

That's pretty cool. Maybe consider adding a tiny bit more details on the descriptions of the people, characters, etc.?
