A Function to make sure users read the Stickies

Some users don't read the stickies, that is obvious in cases where, someone suggests a rejected suggestion, that is really common in the Suggestion Forums

In order to stop this, when a user goes to a Forum they have never used before, there will be a cooldown for 10 minutes (depends).

They won't be able to post or make a new topic, they would be only able to read the stickies. They would then be instructed to read each one. on the front page there would be a box to check to say you've read tall the stickies, when you've checked that box, a little quiz would open, with questions about things written in the stickies for that topic.

The number of questions would vary depending on stickies

If they get a 70% accuracy or higher

Congrats, you may now post in this Forum!

If they have a 69.99% - 35% accuracy

Hmm Maybe retake the quiz

Click here to retake the quiz Click here to read the stickies again

34.99% - 0% accuracy

Hmm, we think you should read the stickies again

If someone fails the quiz, they'll be redirected to the sticky, and there will be a different range of questions that will be asked when they retake the quiz

The Sticky Owner can choose to make a quiz for their sticky (if the the owner is inactive, an ST member can)
They'll have to come up with some questions, the question creation would be like the format in Microsoft Forms, they will have to come up with more questions than the user is asked, so that the user gets a different set of questions if they redo the quiz

Users would be able to see other treads, just not be able to post until passing the test
Users would be able to see what questions they got wrong

This post from IndianRuby718 contains some ideas that should definitely be considered if this were to be implemented

The number of stickies and what they are changes everyday, and some of the them are less readable than others (directories, for instance). This could work, but it would require a lot of tweaking to get right.

True, things like TOLORS do get updated once in a while

The only solution to that is reading the stickies again and redoing the quiz, but that would be really annoying, so maybe not.

i also have another idea that isnt a quiz but it can help avoid rejected topics

They won't be able to post or make a ew topic, they would be only able to read the stickies. They would then be instructed to read each one. At the end of the OP there would be a box to check to say you've read that sticky, when you've checked that box, a little quiz would open, with questions about things written in that sticky, I'm not sure how many questions should be there, for now I've chosen 15.
If they get a Score of 12-15
Congrats, you can move on to the next sticky
Then the Forum page will open to click the next sticky. When they've read all the stickies, they would just have to wait for the cooldown to finish.

If someone fails the quiz, 5 times, they would have to wait for a 30 minute to 1 hour cooldown, before being able to access the quiz again.

Support. But directories and stuff should be skippable unless they have important information

A quiz in every sticky would be hard to add. The 1 hour cooldown also isn't helping and I really wouldn't want to study for an hour straight just to do this, right here, right now.

The one hour thing is so that people won't fail the test check only the answer to the failed question, go back to the test, repeat, if that is done 5 times you have to wait an hour, though I agree, an hour is a bit too long, 10 minutes maybe?

Ooh, I feel like that would be a really valuable suggest ^u^ and also laregly prevent people from posting in wrong forum categories. An alternate option would be to compile the general rules into one passage, kind of like the TOS of a forum category, and have that page pop up before the user enters and click “I agree”.

I think this is kind of Overkill, maybe just a hard-to-miss Pop up that says “Welcome to the Forums! Read these Topics before you get Started!”

no support for three reasons:

1. while there are some short stickies that new scratchers could easily read, there are also some stickies that are very large (like the rejected suggestions sticky) that would take lots of time to go through

2. imagine if an experienced scratcher decided to move accounts. It would take a while for them to take several quizzes on things they already know

3: Stickies can change over time, so if there is a big addition to the sticky, the ST would have to add code to make a new question just to be sure that the new scratcher understands it.

Let's say there are 6 stickies in each forum, each quiz takes 30 seconds, and there are 5 forums a user has specific interest in. It would take 15 minutes, which you don't even have to do all at once.
