Bug? - Scratch not working correctly - NO STAGE / No cat

My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.6, Safari 13.1.2, No Flash version detected

I need urgently help for my son. He is starting with Scratch on a school project.

He installed the MAC App on his MacBook Pro retina 13 mid 2014 and actual MAC OS X 10.15.6 but it shows NO STAGE - no cat in the STAGE window, which means he is not able to use the Scratch Desktop App on his laptop.

Web version version is working fine!

Can some help. My some is very frustrated.

Adding information - maybe it helps to understand the problem better:

STAGE windows as light blue backgound - no CAT is visualized.

If picking into the window, the CAT is popping up, but if you place the cursor immediately the CAT hide and the window is than light blue with NO Action.

Please help!!!

Can you press Command+Shift+I (you should see Developer Tools), and open Console, and copy-paste any errors here?

You are running into a known issue with the version of the Mac App Store. It only happens on certain older machines, but if you install Scratch Desktop from the “direct download” link on https://scratch.mit.edu/download it should work just fine. We're working on a fix for the app store.
