Seizure Warning Button and Disclaimer

Some projects feature flashing lights and that is a problem to people that are at risk of seizures due to it. You can't just put it in the title, it likely wouldn't fit. Placing it in the description would be overlooked if it by a lot of text. That's why I suggest adding a button to place a disclaimer warning if you would like to watch it.

It will show up when you load the site to make sure people see it. The way to exit would be the tiny X, making sure kids who don't understand don't just click agree. The button to turn it on would be near the title. I think this would be a great way to protect some people from seizures and other problems. Also, the ST will be able to change if the warning is on to make sure it goes unnoticed.

I absolutely support this. I’ve seen a few projects with flashing lights and colours (yes im british

) without adequate epilepsy warnings. This would make it easier for users with epilepsy to know which projects are ok for them and which projects aren’t.

When you share the project, would there be a box that says “This project has flashing lights and colors”? Or would all projects have this warning?

This would definitely be a great addition to Scratch and probably change it for the better. I'm not going to support it because I don't do support/no support anymore, but this would help.

Full support. I know someone personally who suffers from seizures, and they are so cautious they barely watch videos.

I think this idea is great, but I don't know if I would support it.
It would get misused. It would be nearly impossible to know if that warning on a project meant anything, because it is for the creator to decide if it is there. Scratches could accidentally activate it and potentially get fewer views, or they could forget to activate it, making people sensitive to flashing lights unaware of it. Also, if that is a feature, they could be expecting to get a notification whenever there could be potential risk.

Yes, there will be a tick box.

Your mockup puts the button out of the way as to not obstruct the scratch project appearance. (I think that is how it should be, if it is implemented)
But out of the way means people will not see it / forget to press it!
