Easier Custom Thumbnails
People always add custom thumbnails to their project by making a sprite and showing it how they like it and then moving a script and saving. Every time they want to save the project. Couldn't it be a little easier? Adding an “upload thumbnail image” button would really be nice, and it would help newer scratchers use custom thumbnails too (because many of them don't know what the trick is). Here's a little mock up I made showing what it could look like:

Tell me what you guys think of this idea, and if you have any suggestions to make it better, let me know!

Support. I was going to suggest this, but the ‘New Topic’ button is so far…

People could upload fake thumbnails to made their project look really cool when in reality it's something that was put together in a minute and is not very good.
Only semi-support.

Yeah, but this would make it much easier for new users to fake their project.People could upload fake thumbnails to made their project look really cool when in reality it's something that was put together in a minute and is not very good. You can do that with the current system.

Besides, it's not about the thumbnail, it's about the content.

It is about the content, but I never look at a project unless it has a cool thumbnail. Without one, the content doesn't even have a chance.Yeah, but this would make it much easier for new users to fake their project.People could upload fake thumbnails to made their project look really cool when in reality it's something that was put together in a minute and is not very good. You can do that with the current system.

You are correct that the amount of fake thumbnails would go up. But the pros still ought weigh the cons by a million (in my opinion).

Support. I tried to make one with my digital clock and I failed because I had to make the seconds after I made the thumbnail, which throws the thumbnail out.

How about add ‘capture project thumbnail’ to the menu when right clicking on the stage in the editor? Then it would save a thumbnail of the stage that is not changed until the project is opened again in the editor (or ‘capture project thumbnail’ is selected again).

Eh… no support. Easy to workaround, and would make people more focused on the thumbnails of the project than the content, which is the real point.

That's also less obtrusive than the OP's idea. Support. How about add ‘capture project thumbnail’ to the menu when right clicking on the stage in the editor?
