Issues with search function.
My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.4, Safari 13.1, Flash 32.0 (release 0)
So, I'm OriginalProjects and I made a project called Dark Side Broodals from Super Mario Odyssey, https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/407252790/editor/. I was testing whether the cloud highscores would do if I played the project while logged out.
Anyway, I logged out and I searched “Dark Side Broodals” and got “Nothing found”.
Then “Dark Side Broodals from Super Mario Odyssey” – “Nothing found”.
Then “Dark Side Broodals from Super Mario” – “Nothing found”.
Then, finally, “Dark Side Broodals from Super” – and I found the project.
Then I logged back in, and it was the same thing.
This makes no sense. To start, there should be at least one project named “Dark Side Broodals” (my own).
Secondly, searching the exact name of the project verbatim should yield the project.
I searched “Super Mario Odyssey” and the project is a ways down the list (but that makes total sense – it's not a hugely popular project).
Then “OriginalProjects” (my own username) yields all my projects, including this one (also makes total sense).
But anyway, since it was so difficult to find this project, I considered renaming it to “Super Mario Odyssey Dark Side” which could potentially make it easier to find (and thus give it more views). If this is not allowed PLEASE LET ME KNOW. BY ALL MEANS. Then, to make sure I would find the project, I looked up “OriginalProjects”.
I found it, but it was still called “Dark Side Broodals from Super Mario Odyssey” in the grid of projects that came up. When I clicked the link, however, it showed the new name. It didn't matter whether I was logged in or not.
I then tried unsharing it and resharing it (I know doing this to “keep something on trending” is illegal, but this project is far from trending and anyway, I was just trying to change the name) – to no avail. Same thing happened. Also didn't matter whether I was logged in.
To minimize any further damage I may have caused to the search issues, I changed the name back.
So, if I am not allowed to change the name at all, like I said LET ME KNOW and THAT IS TOTALLY FINE, ignore the second half of my message. But still, what about the search issues? I believe it may be a bug in Scratch.
