Cannot connect to Microbit (2020)

Hello. I have exhausted my know how on trying to connect to the microbit. Ive tried installing the latest scratchlink and new Hex file in microbit. I have not been able to connect for quite sometime. I was able to connect to an old macbook when i first got the microbit about two years ago, but sadly I no longer have that macbook as i moved schools and had to give it back. I believe I was using an old version of scratchlink like not even 1.0 on that one.
Can someone please help. I am unable to connect and want to show some of the projects i've done with physical computing to my students this summer.

Hai there, sadly there has been some issues with Scratch Link recently. Could you give me some specifics so I can try and help you? E.g if its a certificate issue, or it says a port is already in use? I assume as you are an ICT/Computing teacher you may have a server or something running from the device?

It doesn't say anything about port in use, basically I am getting 1. make sure you have scratch link installed and running and 2. check that bluetooth is enabled. Yes to both of those. I am not running a server from either of these apple computers (macbook 13 inch 2017 with os 10.13, and imac 2011 with os 10.13) both have bluetooth enabled. One is running sratch link 1.1.28 and the otherr is running 1.3… something. The last time I was able to get it to work was with a 2016 mac, and it was over a year and a half ago, sadly i don't have that macbook anymore because i had to give it back to my school.

Interesting.. you may already know this but it would be easier if you pressed the globe icon as it displays system information (which would help a lot). It may be a problem with the Safari Bluetooth permissions. As a Mac user myself I can understand that Apple can be a bit overzealous sometimes with protection. I will also have to double check but I have a feeling that Scratch Link 1.3 had some errors? All I can suggest is giving me system info (globe icon) and check the Safari preferences (through the application) for bluetooth.

I am unfamiliar with what you mean by globe icon? Is it the network preferences in system preferences?

I am using chrome as well and not safari, though I just tried safari and no go. And I have also tried both 1.3 and 1.1 versions of scratch link
