Hi! This is the studio where we can discuss the *possible* return of #WaterCrisis Camp c:
I invited the past main counselors and the volunteers!

(For those who volunteered) :
Firstly, are you absolutely sure you’re open to running a camp? It comes with many responsibilities and a lot of work! This also includes a whole lot of activity from the main counselors and just the counselors.

If yes, please read the following!

Please keep in mind, however, this may not be happening again; however there is quite a large chance.

Things that need to be changed in the camp
- new activities!
- a new point system
- a different approach to applications
- new schedule of when the camp occurs

Things that CAN but do not have to be changed
- the name of the camp (depends!)
- counselor system
- description of the camp

How the camp works
- four main counselors (this can change)
- camp lasts until camper reaches ZERO in any cabin (this can change)
- each MAIN counselor has a cabin
- each main counselor chooses a counselor to help them out in their cabin (I suggest this should be changed so it’s fairer)
- “rain” happens twice in the camp in every cabin for 30 minutes, doubling the points

Suggestions

I have quite a few suggestions for this camp as well! We might need a Scratcher who creates thumbnails for the studios. I think this would be a good idea because it’s not really required for the counselors, as the camp isn’t about making thumbnails. Ultimately, this would be a fair way instead of campers asking to do the thumbnail

Another idea is someone who makes the projects - aka the results projects of who placed, the camper applications, an FAQ, and much, much more!

We can always ask if anyone wants to volunteer for these positions as well.

Hosts / Main Counselors (1-4 hosts, 4 Main Counselor Scratchers depending on the activity. If the number of Main Counselors are greater than the hosts, we can find someone willing to be one!)
The host’s/hosts’ jobs are to completely contribute to the camp. They make the main studio for the camp, accept applications, help sort the campers in each cabin, and frequently change the description to add counts. Counselors also have to use “Rain” passes, which grants any camper twice as many points added for thirty minutes. You will also have to find Counselors for your cabin. (How to choose Counselors is TBD) Full details will be given.

Counselors (1-4 Scratchers depending on the number of main counselors)
Help out with adding points to your cabin and contributing in any way you can! You can help by finding someone to make thumbnails (maybe by application? Still TBD)

Project Designer (1-2 Scratchers and okay sorry I couldn’t think of any other name xD)
One or two Scratchers can make projects for the camp! These can also be the hosts, campers, or Counselors. For instance, a results project for each session, FAQ (this does not have to be every time), and more. Anyone can volunteer! The Scratcher(s) who makes the projects is chosen every session, and if they want to help with the next one, they do not have to apply.

Thumbnail Creator (amount varies, maximum 5)
The Thumbnail Creator is someone who creates thumbnails for all of the cabins and the main studio! (will be giving more description later on)

How it works:
The camp will function the same as before, though the point system will be changed. We will need more activity ideas (please suggest them if you have any!) And the rank system of course will be changed accordingly.
The points will work in reverse - from 0. I think it’d be a good idea to try this out first C: The camp will run for 2-4 (TBD) weeks, though I don’t know the actual dates yet.

This is my first time using the forums, so I'm sorry if I replied to the wrong message or anything. Anyways, I'd love to help out! I'm totally up for volunteering!
As for an activity, perhaps we could do a mini book club online? I know there are a lot of pdf books on the web, and it cold be an optional activity or something. We could all read a book at the same time.
I can co-counsel, but if there aren't enough spots, I don't mind. I'd love to help out any way I can.

Ooh book club sounds cool! Maybe we could read stuff by authors on Scratch?
To add a signature go to the bottom of the Forum Home page and in the bottom left corner there should be a little link to do that

Idk tbh, perhaps we could find some informative articles on water crisis, or some books i.e. ‘a long walk to water.’ For example, maybe we could have like an article a week, and if people could earn a set amount of points by reading it and stating a one/two sentence summary of wut they learned :p

Some activity suggestions!
1. Telephone, but with drawing/writing/sound. Basically someone will create smthn and then the next person needs to interpret it in a different medium, and then someone takes Version2 and changes the medium again. Mediums can repeat as long as they're not consecutive.
2. The Book Club - adding onto this idea, it'd be cool to collect some written pieces by ppl on Scratch and make an activity out of discussing them!

haha i feel like it would be better if, as i said, we used articles online because they would be more informative and more reliable. idk tho :p
