Racism does exist. You're right, getting a tan doesn't make you a different race, but what does that have to do with black people existing? Black lives matter and exist. To say that racism doesn't exist is very ignorant and rude.

I of course support the cause BLM is said to be part of - that any person, regardless of their race, especially African-Americans facing violence, racism and hatred, are valued, are people, and matter.

But I also would like to remind everyone that not all police are violent and/or racist. Of course there are going to be bad cops, racist cops, and those are horrible people who should never have been trusted with the responsibility and power of a police officer, and should be imprisoned for their crimes. But, there are still good police men and women, and I think we need to recognize that just because they are part of an organization in which racists and violent criminals are also a part of doesn't mean we should blame the police altogether. We should blame the individuals who commit these terrible acts.

Also, I support the peaceful protests, but I don't think that burning down buildings and looting houses is honoring those people who were and still are victims of racism and violence. It's sad, though, that peaceful protests aren't heard as loudly by the media and our government, and the only real way to catch attention is through violence :(

I know that black lives matter, in fact, I support this! But sometimes it gets on my nerves because I just want to use scratch without politics. I know it is important, but, sometimes it gets on my nerves.

Protesting is never over. That was just the large American Civil Rights Movement, and now the world is going through another Civil Rights Movement.
