“Former Scratch Team Member” Ranking
There could at least be a page listing former members of the ST, as a subsection of the “our team” page.
Edit: apparently there is, but it only says their name, not their username + icon like everyone who is currently on the team
Additionally, there is a page on Scratch Wiki which lists their accounts. However, I agree that accounts should be listed on the Our Team page. Am I the only one who’s bothered that @Za-Chary isn’t on the list of former Scratch Team members on Our Team?

Also, look above this post…
Yes, this is the most amazing topic ever.
I have complimented, replied to, and even agreed with a former Scratch Team member!
It feels like something worthy of a bucket list.

I absolutely support this idea. Former scratch team members know how the site is run, so their posts in the forums related to how the site works and is moderated are more valid. They also should be given a rank to prevent people from pretending to be a former scratch team member.
Unless they were fired for abusing their Scratch Team power, in which case they shouldn't still have accounts anyway, former scratch team members can be trusted to follow Scratch's guidelines, and it would make sense if their rank didn't actually give them anything other than a note on their profiles.

“Former Scratch Team Member” Ranking
I know that “more scratch ranks” are rejected, but since this isn’t a “rank above scratcher” ranking, I believe that it is still allowed.
I’ll be referring to the Scratch Team as “ST” the Scratch Team rank as “STR” and the Scratcher rank as “SR” in this post to save time typing and make this post less long.
When a user leaves the Scratch Team, the * is removed from their username and their scratch rank is changed from Scratch Team back to Scratcher. The only way for a user to know if they were a ST member is if they put it in their profile information. But, one can easily put “I used to be in the Scratch Team!” in their about me. Yes, they can be reported and have it removed, but it’s still likely that a few people will fall for it.
It’s understandable that when someone leaves the ST that they wouldn’t have the STR anymore, but them just being called SR feels a bit… off? Since they used to be a moderator/site developer/etc, they should deserve some recognition.
So, what if there was a “Former Scratch Team Member” rank? And, maybe they could have a different symbol next to their usernames, like a ^.
I suppose there’s not much else to say about this.
Let me know if anything needs to be cleared up!
Edit: there was a similar ranking for retired forum moderators back when the rank still existed.
https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Retired_Community_Moderator
If this was possible, it should be possible for the Scratch Team, too.
support! this would be good for people that claim to be a former scratch team member

There's now another former Scratch Team member!
That's another reason why this should be added… Or not.
As Za-Chary (coincidentally a former Scratch Team member) said on the previous page, “all Scratchers should be treated with the same amount of respect as Scratch Team members”, whether they be users who have inspired the Scratch website in some way, or users who have worked as a Scratch Team member, or are still Scratch Team members. Just because there's another former ST member, doesn't mean this should be instantly implemented.
I'm not sure if this is rejected, however…

Bringing this topic up to continue the discussion.
Is this necessary? I mean, if you look at the page that lists all Scratch Team members, there's a list of former Scratch Team members. Yay, they finally added Za-Chary!
Moreover, Za-Chary did say a page ago:
Instead of adding a Former Scratch Team Member status, just go onto a former Scratch Team member's profile and say something like “You were a Scratch Team member once? You're cool!”

Former Scratch Team members are just people who helped the community stay safe, I have now realised, so why do we need a special rank to honour Scratchers who have served the community, and once protected the Scratch community from any inappropriate content that appeared? […]I think “legend in the Scratch community” is a little subjective, and definitely not the same as “former Scratch Team member.” Do I really deserve recognition on the same tier as @griffpatch for things like project-making and helping the community? Note that @griffpatch is not a former Scratch Team member. On the other hand, does anyone recognize @GulpTea as a legend in the Scratch Community? He certainly was, as he is a former Scratch Team member, but some might argue that he is not a “legend.”

It’s just to let people know they were a Scratch Team member at one point, as people may not know otherwise. Bringing this topic up to continue the discussion.

snip-I still think the idea is good, but I also think that there are ways former Scratch Team members can say they used to be part of the Scratch Team without having their own special status. The only Scratch Team members I would think of having this status would be @Lightnin, @Za-Chary (OBVIOUSLY), and scmb1, but I don't think it's fair. -
It’s just to let people know they were a Scratch Team member at one point, as people may not know otherwise.
As @Za-Chary said in that quote, former Scratch Team members don't need more recognition than other Scratchers (in this instance, @griffpatch), so this would bring unnecessary attention towards the former Scratch Team members.

I doubt any ST member would do that. They're all older than 18, so they are pretty sensible. I don't think a different symbol is necessary, because they really don't have any power anymore, and just the thing under their name is enough.
Another thing to think about is the very unlikely event, that a former scratch team member tried to convince people or persuade people or try to gain power in something, or even bully someone because they were a scratch team member.
I think that ST members would get fired for trying to do anything harmful to someone, and that they wouldn't get the rank in that case so they can't get any more boosts from the fact that they were a ST member.
But taking it away from them and not everyone does not seem right because it is true they were a ST member, and denying it seems wrong.

You'd be surprised as to how many people over 18 are not sensible at all. I doubt any ST member would do that. They're all older than 18, so they are pretty sensible.
I like to believe that all Scratch Team members — current and former — are pretty reasonable on Scratch, at least.
Not to mention that if a former Scratch Team member tries to abuse their status and is disrespectful, they would get banned anyway.

I think the work they have done should be recognised.
Also, anything they have done during their time as ST should have a badge next to it explaining that the comment was made when they were an ST member to avoid confusion.
