Making Bells on Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you play Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you're probably very familiar with the main currency of the game: bells. The entire game is basically based off of these bells, which is why it's so crucial to make them– and a lot of them. Bells buys you cool gadgets, Nook Mile Tickets, and pay off your debt that is constantly bestowed upon you by Tom Nook. Here on this guide, you'll find lots of ways to make bells, including tips, tricks, and more! Let's get started.
NOTE: You will probably want the ultimate pocket-stuffing guide to ensure you can fit lots of things in your pocket. You'll know if you have it when you have five rows of pockets.
Way One: Fishing
Fishing, although it can be quite time-consuming, can potentially be very beneficial. Try fishing every time you see a fish shadow, then sell of your loot to Timmy and Tommy via Nook's Cranny or the donations box outside. For even more bells for these fishies (150% more, according to a YouTuber), take the opportunity to do a fishing tourney while C.J is around. If you complete it successfully, C.J gives you the option of selling fish, so catch some before you do the tourney.
Way Two: Bug-Catching
Bug-catching is another great way to make bells. Plus, there are bugs everywhere, and never a shortage of them, it seems (except when it's rainy). Plus, with new seasons and months comes new bugs, which you can also sell. While your out-and-about on the island, carry around a net and catch as many bugs as possible.
TIP: At night, you can always find a moth outside near the light at Nook's Cranny. Try catching it when you go in with your bounty to sell to Timmy and Tommy.
After you have enough bugs to fill up all your pockets, head to Nook's Cranny to sell all of your creepy-crawlies. Like fish, there is another character who gives you 150% more bell for bugs: Flick. You can tell Flick is on the island when you spot an emo-y, red chameleon with a black, spiky net hanging around. Sell your bugs to him for a butt-load of bells, and go home happy with all the bells you made.
Way Three: Scavenging
Although this might not be the best way to make a bunch of bells, it's pretty fun, and you can get some Nook Miles for it, too. Scavenging, or at least my way of doing it, is walking along the beach and picking up every shell and message-in-a-bottle I can find. Then you can sell it to Timmy and Tommy at Nook's Cranny for anywhere from 1000 to about 5000 bells. Pretty good, don't ya think?
Way Four: Plant a Money Tree
I'm sure plenty of you have heard of this helpful and very interesting hack, and I'm sure plenty of you have tried it for yourselves. From experience, I can say this hack really does work, but only if you do it a certain way.
1. First, find a gold-glowing spot on the ground and dig it up. There should be bells underneath.
2. Next, instead of pocketing the bells, use the planting option and plant the bag of bells right where you found it.
3. Finally, wait for your beautiful money tree to grow into a full-grown tree!

NOTE: You can do this with anywhere from 100 to 10000 bells, but not over that. If you do, you will only get 1000 bells x 3.
Planting a money tree is certainly worth it, since the tree yields three times what you put into it, but it takes a bit of patience.
Way Five: Ride the “Stalk” Market
Buying and selling turnips– commonly referred to as “riding the ‘stalk’ market” – is a good way to make a bounty of bells, but it comes with a risk. You can buy turnips from Daisy Mae on Sunday's and Sunday's only, and the turnips will last a week before rotting. This means you have a week to sell the turnips before the rot and become useless. The turnip prices will change everyday– a new price for in the morning and a new one in the evening – so you never know when the price might be the highest. If your week is almost up and you still haven't sold the turnips, just sell the turnips on the Saturday before– it's better to get the bells then to let them become useless. Riding the stalk market is risky, but if you do it right you can make a bunch of bells.
Way Six: Visit (or make) Tarantula Island
You've probably heard of Tarantula Island– a mystery island that spawns tons of tarantula's. And you can either visit the actual island, or you can make it.
FINDING IT
Visiting Tarantula Island can be nearly impossible, but it's still an option. Buy a Nook Miles Ticket and use it at some point after seven pm for the chance of making it to this island. If you do, get ready for a long time ahead of you (less than making it, though). Tarantula has tons of naturally-spawned creepy-crawlies just waiting to be caught, although catching them can be quite the doozy…There have been reports (both online and on YouTube) that water bugs have been dominating these islands. Although they don't sell for quite as much as tarantulas, they still make a whopping 2000 bells per bug.
MAKING IT
Making Tarantula Island is a bit easier to do, since you can go to any island and make into one. However, it takes a lot of work to clear out all the plants, flowers, and trees so that tarantulas will spawn. Remember to clear everything so that there's a flat island for tarantulas to spawn (don't dig up flowers, simply pick them and leave the roots). After you've spent several pain-staking minutes clearing the island, prepare yourself for the hard task of catching the tarantulas that spawn.
That's all the tips for now! I'll update this whenever I find new tips on making bells, so if you like making lots of them, follow this topic! See y'all soon and
KEEP PLAYING ANIMAL CROSSING!

You should make this a project instead of a forum post (you can post a link to it in the main forum when it’s finished)
