Yeah I like it too!

They say that everything's “small and in the corner” now, but it is bigger for me. This is probably a bug.
Also, when something new gets implemented, people usually get confused, because it is new. Maybe they'll get used to it over time.

Hmm I’m not noticing any differences, I’m on mobile so that might be affecting it somehow

It's the same thing that happened with the 3.0 release. Scratch does it's best to please it's user base, but there's a small group of people that will dislike the new features. I do enjoy the newer paint editor, though I haven't used it too much. These topics are bound to happen, and the ST will work as hard as they can to please as much people as possible.

Or the costume you looked at is smaller than the size of the editor. If you have a costume/backdrop that is bigger than the 480x360 screen you'll probably notice it.

I guess you are right. But I thought people who don't like 3.0 will like this update, because it's now more similar to 2.0 (and uses screen space much more efficiently on high resolution displays).

But this will probably be fixed soon, and it doesn't happen to everyone.

I've noticed any time there's an update, users complain about it:

Early in 2013 during the beta, some people disliked Scratch 2.0. They complained of a bad paint editor and confusing project editor. After the final release, the criticism slowly ceased as users finally adapted to the new environment.

There's one example. It will calm down once users get used to the new feature.

Honestly, I got more upset when they removed the exact studio comment count in the same update.

whats funny is that some of the same people who disliked 2.0 update also told ST to bring back 2,0 when 3.0 released

As long as there are updates on scratch, there will also be people that whine and complain on the forums because they can't deal with a simple change.

i like it but there should have been a way to change the type of paint editor in the first place so we could be able to use both for multipurpose projects.

It is basic psychology. People beg for the update, and then as soon as it comes, they hate it. This is especially true with children.

I prefer the new one, however, it's annoying for me.
At start the colour picker. Although in a hand it's better because now you can custom the colour and know with exactitude what to do for getting that colour, it takes more time when one need simple colours because you don't have the already-made colours.
Another problem is that in 2.0 paint editor you were able to fulfil the entire background with the Fill tool, however, now you must do a big square to fulfil them. Also, similar to that, now the editor is intelligent and fixes the paintbrush and other tools use are smarter, but annoying in some cases.
Of course the paint editor is mostly better, however, it's worse on some parts.

I guess people just don't like change.

For me my one isn't bang on correct a tiny bit around the square is part of the outside I don't mind it tho

This is probably just the usual controversy that happens after every update

I personally don't like it because when I try to drag a sprite, it doesn't let me so I have to move it using the arrow keys which is extremely annoying.

I know I posted above saying I liked it but I hadn't really used it when I said that. I find it really helpful it makes getting something exactly to the edge of the screen a lot easier. I know some people have been having trouble with it but it's worked for me.
