What is the max size for profile pictures?

I am thinking of making a profile picture and I would like to know what the maximum size is (e.g. 200 px - 200 px)

It has to be less than 500px - 500px so the maximum size would be 499px - 499px right?

The maximum file size is also 1 MB, I believe.

That is incorrect it's 512 KB and the OP asked for the size in pixels.

500px should still be OK, just not more.

It does say that, but it's… wrong. I noticed that too, I think they need to change it to say 500x500px or less, not less than. You can have a 500x500 pfp.
