hey , i am new to this stuff and I can't seem to make my sprite move back and forth smoothly. when i go in one direction it works fine but then when i go the other way it wigs out. please help

First, welcome to Scratch. Looking at your costumes you only need half as many as you have. Have your Scratch costumes facing right, then you can use these blocks to switch which way they are facing. Then you can use one script to next costume, wait .1, in a loop if key right or left arrow pressed.

when green flag clicked
set rotation style [left-right v]

In your change x scripts you can use.
for right

point in direction (90 v)

for left

point in direction (-90 v)
