What's wrong with the size? Why is it a problem that they readjusted the sprites to make them a bit larger?

Also, please do not use blocks unless you are explaining code. That's the sole purpose of why Scratch allows you to include blocks in your posts, otherwise you are “blockspamming”, which is a form of spamming. This is not allowed.

No support, the st has decided to make them bigger so the blocks could be easily used on tablets

its ok but I think they could add a feature that detects if you are on a computer or a tablet and changes the size of blocks.

Yes, but what's wrong with the size? Why is it a problem that they readjusted the sprites to make them a bit larger?

Less code fits at the screen at once.

If you are suggesting that you could switch between the old and new blocks, that is rejected. (Or just even going back to the old blocks as a whole):

Za-Chary wrote:

2.3 Set the editor to look like older versions of Scratch
Some users prefer the look and feel of the Scratch 2.0 editor, and have suggested that the editor look like Scratch 2.0, but still run off of HTML5 like Scratch 3.0 does. However, this would be more complicated for educational and documentation purposes. It could be confusing if someone is trying to learn Scratch from someone who is using a completely different layout of the editor than them.

In addition, the Scratch Team changed the design for a reason: to make it easier, more intuitive, and friendlier for newcomers to use. If you dislike the Scratch 3.0 editor, you can still download the Scratch 1.4 or Scratch 2.0 offline editors.

However, the Scratch Team is still considering adding options to change the block size inside the editor, an option to switch the side of the screen the stage is on, and an option for a dark mode interface. It may be some time, though, before these ideas are implemented; please be patient.

Za-Chary wrote:

2.4 Revert back to older versions of Scratch
Scratch has to update sometimes in order to accommodate for certain changes. In particular, an online editor that ran off of Adobe Flash (rather than Java) was added in Scratch 2.0, and Scratch 3.0 was created for tablet support and in anticipation of the discontinuation of Flash. Changing the editor back to these older versions of Scratch would not only undo years of hard work by the Scratch Team, but also might not work online anymore. If you wish, you can download the Scratch 1.4 and Scratch 2.0 offline editors. However, the Scratch Team is likely no longer concerned with fixing any bugs with these offline editors.

The Scratch Team is still working on bug fixes, new features, and other improvements on Scratch 3.0. The new interface was created in such a way that it is easy for the Scratch Team to make new updates, and they are indeed continuously making new updates (although these updates and bug fixes take much longer to implement than you think). Don't worry, Scratch 3.0 is far from finished!

NINJA'D! READ THE ABOVE POST INSTEAD!

This suggestion is rejected. The blocks are a major part of Scratch, and going back to an older version is nearly the same. This is kind of rejected, and also very controversial - so this will have to be reported to be closed.

note: just realized this actually points to rejected suggestions in a roundabout way lol

Careful guys, this suggestion is not rejected at this time, and in fact the quotes you have provided state this.
However, the Scratch Team is still considering adding options to change the block size inside the editor, an option to switch the side of the screen the stage is on, and an option for a dark mode interface. It may be some time, though, before these ideas are implemented; please be patient.
Those rejected suggestions are for an option to change the entire interface to look like Scratch 2.0, and to “go back” to Scratch 2.0. Neither of them are about optionally changing the block size.

You should be careful too though - you yourself have clearly stated this sentence in a way that you do not want topics to be created on this subject.

No offense.

Za-Chary just stated that they will be adding a feature to resize blocks on your will soon (not very soon, but in the near future when 3.0 continues in development).

So don't argue on this matter.

*Note: This topic just proves that this suggestion isn't controversial to the Scratch Team, so adding the resize feature will be a motivated feature.

I will only support if it is optional. I don't have a problem with the size. Otherwise, no support.

Noooo… I said that it is still something that is being considered. That doesn't mean this suggestion is accepted, or will be implemented.

These are all good points. Because of the reasons mentioned above, no support. There are two very easy workarounds that can be worked around by the click of a button. There is no need to make an option to turn the blocks smaller if you already can.
