On my PC - windows 7 using Crome, my scratch timing works great.

On my new Macbook Pro on Safari the scratch timing is horrible. The slow down area and timing errors are different every time I run it. That makes it hard to make adjustments so it can run on the mac.

Any suggestions on how I can cure this problem?

I found THIS project while surfing for an answer to your question… You might wanna check it out on both of your computers to see if any of the specified criteria run slow on either computer.

I don't know what could be wrong… It seems like a rather resource-unintensive project with very little reason to lag on most any computer. Hopefully you get it fixed ‘cause it seems like you’re in for the long haul with your Harvard course. Good luck finding a solution!

Other then recommending what @Asjali said, I have a few quick questions. What version of Scratch are you using on your PC and Macbook Pro? (For example: Scratch 2.0 Online, Scratch 2.0 Offline, Scratch 1.4) What versions of flash are you running on the two machines?

Thank you both so much for your advice ! I did run the browser check on both computers. The results were very close. Nothing stood out as failing.
On both computers I am using the online Scratch 2.0. Flash is at the same level on both computers.

An interesting change. I put chrome on the Mac to see how the script would behave and it was perfect. No slow downs or problems. Then I went back to Safari. It worked. I am thinking that there were connection slow down problems with the internet. I will keep running tests.
