Hi! I just would like know when Scratch 4.0 will coming?

3.0 did come out a bit recently, and it took quite a long time for 2.0 to upgrade to 3.0, so i'm assuming there is no estimated date when 4.0 will come, but it won't be soon.

It won't be for a while. The ST have said that they haven't even started any work or planning on the next version of Scratch as they're still focused on working on Scratch 3.

Scratch 3.0 is one year old, but it will take more years before 4.0 comes.

Based on the current pattern of Scratch updates, it should come around 2025.

Maybe not… Before, there was not a lot of scratchers. Now, there are a lot of scratchers (10 M + active) who wait the new version.

I don't think this would immediately cause us to make a Scratch 4.0. Since Scratch 1.0 was released in 2007, and Scratch 2.0 was released in 2013 (6 years later), and Scratch 3.0 was released in 2019 (6 years later), it is a reasonable guess that Scratch 4.0 would be released in 2025 (6 years later). Scratch has continually grown from its release, yet these release dates have not been getting any shorter.

Of course, the 2025 release date is all speculation. As mentioned above, we're still focusing on fixing up Scratch 3.0, and so Scratch 4.0 is not on our minds at the moment. So, the answer to your question “When Scratch 4.0 will coming?” is “We don't know, because we haven't started it yet, and at the moment there is not a need for a Scratch 4.0.”

I prefer that. Like that, we will tire of scratch months.

Scratch 4.0

Scratch 4.0 will not be released unless something were to happen to HTML.

Also, reporting to be closed to prevent future necroposting.

I'm not sure if that's true — but it is likely that “Scratch 4.0” won't be here for several years. In particular, we're not concerned with 4.0, as we are still working on 3.0.
