What is the ST's exact process for "changing" usernames?
So I once saw a comment chain on Paddle2See's profile about cs1866244 knowing someone who got to change their username from old_hobo_101 to Game_M-A-K-E-R. And then I was wondering how the same thing happened. I did remember that one time, Za-Chary pointed out on a forum post that he think very few ST members can change usernames. The old account old_hobo_101 no longer exists, according to the API and scratchstats.com. I also remembered that Paddle2See told me a while ago that thisandagain knows almost everything about how this website works. So I went to try to ask on his profile. But the profile comments were closed! So I decided to post on this forum.
I need, like, ALL the details: the source code (except for confidential info like server passwords), the order in which it gets changed first, how the exact order works, etc.

I'm not sure what you were expecting, because in all actuality, it's an exceedingly simple process: I need, like, ALL the details: the source code (except for confidential info like server passwords), the order in which it gets changed first, how the exact order works, etc.
The ST creates a new account with the desired username. Then they transfer over all of the user's projects (including comments, studios, description, view count, favorite count, and love count, and all remixes), transfer all of their followers to the new account, and anything else they've ever made or done on Scratch to the new account. They then delete the old account.

But in what specific order? Because they must transfer the user ID, studio and project IDs, comment ID and time, description (both sections), user activity, etc. then delete the old account and make it an available username. All the user settings as well (country, profile picture, email address, comments off for X projects, followers, following, etc.I'm not sure what you were expecting, because in all actuality, it's an exceedingly simple process: I need, like, ALL the details: the source code (except for confidential info like server passwords), the order in which it gets changed first, how the exact order works, etc.

What is the ST's exact process for "changing" usernames?
…Why does this even matter? It literally doesn't matter in the slightest the order in which all of this is transferred over, all that does matter is that all of it gets there. But in what specific order?
Perhaps there isn't even a defined order, maybe they just issue a “copy account” command that copies it over in whatever order.
Why do you even want to know such minute details about the process in the first place? There's no point to it at all.

It really does not matter the order, it would be determined by the computer when copy and pasting large contents. There will probably be no ‘procedure’ like you suggest since they don't do that anymore. To see if certain ST members have the same or different method.…Why does this even matter?
