Every now and then I'll find a Scratcher who used a different font in their “about me” on their profile. How do you do this?

Try this: https://igfonts.io/Some of the fonts will not work, and turn into ?s. Otherwise, yes that works

Your computer may not have that particular font installed in the operating system, thus you will get some ?s since it's not recognized.Try this: https://igfonts.io/Some of the fonts will not work, and turn into ?s. Otherwise, yes that works
