I'm working on a platformer, and, like the title says, I need ideas!
I want there to be some kind of theme/storyline to it, so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great

You'd need some sort of script to either:
1.) detect when the character is touching the wall so the character can be moved beside the wall instead.
2.) do the same thing as #1, but use a box bigger than the character (with ghost effect set to 100).

You could also paint the wall a certain color and script something so that the character doesn't go through the wall if he encounters that specific color.
My platformer knowledge is quite unrefined… These are solutions that I would have suggested back in 2009 when I actually worked on platformers, and even though they should work, there are certainly better, more modern alternatives.

As for an idea, why don't you make it something regal? Like say, you're hired by a royal kingdom to collect golden keys that are placed throughout a deadly dungeon? It looks like you're going for a Kirby vibe with the main character, so the regal theme kinda makes sense.

Thanks, that's a good idea! I might have it that you are trapped in a dungeon and have to escape or something. And I'll try to add a script to detect the walls
