Support. What if it automatically put inputs in visitor mode when they lose focus, and then there would be an “Edit” button? I think that would be easier to understand for beginners than a “Visitor View” button.

Visitor View
Nah, no support. It's quite simple to sign out and view it. I've done it before many times. This would take away developer time that could be used to develop other things, and a button that allows you to view in “visitor mode” wouldn't do much anyways.

I feel like it would be an extra button that doesn't do much. I can't speak for everyone but I don't like extra buttons.

Semi-support for this, I don't really like the sound of “visitor mode” an “Edit” button? I think that would be easier to understand for beginners than a “Visitor View” button.:P

You would rather click ~8 times to switch to an alt account an open your project (especially if your project is still in progress and you don't want to share it to have to view in a visitor mode) than click Nah, no support. Without having to share the project?

I support this suggestion. Although it isn't necessarily the most important change to be made to the website (and signing out is an easy workaround), it can be quite convenient for double-checking the appearance of the “Instructions” and “Notes and Credits” sections of your project. (I know some users on this site put some extra time to make these sections of their project pages look nice, clean, and presentable.)
Although this button would fit most conveniently on project pages, perhaps the Scratch Team could look into how it could be implemented elsewhere, such as studio pages (for titles and descriptions) and profile pages (for “About Me” and “What I'm working on”.)
If this suggestion doesn't get implemented, at least we have the option of signing out to check how these parts of pages look for others.

I'm pretty sure I already stated that I would like this suggestion to be added, but I have something to add.
I noticed that some people said that you could just sign out and view the project's notes and credits or instructions to see if things work, but that only works if the project is shared. If you still have things to work on when you're setting up the notes and credits (like if you are giving credit to someone whose work you just added and don't want to forget who it was) you don't want to share an unfinished project just to test out the link. That is where Visitor View would really come in handy. It's a way to test the links in your instructions and notes and credits without needing to share your project.

This has my support, though it does seem kind of unnecessary for most users. Maybe if the button were really small? Opening an incognito tab isn't that much work, but you can't do that if it's unshared.

I do not like going into another account and seeing if my links or @s work.

Support. People say you can just sign out and see, but what if it isn't shared yet? We need this.

I just realized, tabs would fix this particular problem with the current system. This visitor view makes everything better, as there won't be a giant “Instructions” box taking up half of the side and then it makes the Notes and Credits seem.. crammed.)
So, partial support, because sometimes user links that start with @ don't work. (e.g, once i saw my username appear as @redstonelasher2010. You could spot it if Visitor View existed.)

Yeah, but many schools restrict private mode.really easy workaround. But not everyone knows how to do that. Support for OPs reasons, however here's a
1. Copy your project URL
2. Click Ctrl + Shift + N (On chrome)
3. Paste into new tab
Tada! 2 second visitor mode workaround.

YES! I don't like having to sign out just to see how a page would look to people other than me, then sign back in just to make minor edits.

As a small button maybe called Preview, I don't see why not since it is useful to be able to test links.
