OS Wars 5 Signups

Hello there
I'm Ekmand (-Ekmand-)
I recently got permission from @Necxgen to re-make OS Wars for the 5th time. This was firstly made by DudmasterUltra and Ultracode, then remade by XYZ-, then -Strife-, and now I have the honor of hosting OS Wars 5.
After looking for some judges, here are the ones that will be joining me:
- NecxGen
- Hexsphere
- -llll-

Judges will do their job on ALL of the rounds - The rounds will be judged like this:

Capability: How much can it do? Does it only have a few functions, or can it do almost anything you can think of?

Experience: Is the interface user-friendly, easy to use, and understandable? How laggy and glitchy is it?

Aesthetic: How does it look? Does it have a distinct, unique style and look pleasing? Does the aesthetic help make it understandable?

Creativity: Does it use original ideas, or does it use the same ideas that most people use?

Rounds:
One: Thumbnail and intro
Two: Lockscreen
Three: Desktop
Four: AI or assistant
Five: Apps - At least 1 Game, a Productivity style app (Notes, Calendar, etc.), ‘Mail’, and ‘Appstore’
Six: The full OS

Rules:
'Stealing' code from other teams is ALLOWED - BUT YOU MUST CREDIT THOUGH!
You cannot base your OS on someone else's / another team's.
The Leader is in charge
The Co-Leader is second in command.
You can use code from other projects, just not a lot
Any other questions? Feel free to ask!

Thanks, -Ekmand-

Looks like this is about advertising, not a suggestion. What should we do? Hmm…

I got it! I'll move your topic to the Show and Tell forums. Good luck with your OS wars!

Could I be in the red team? Plz? I know that I'm not well known for design, so don't mind what position I get. If not red then any color, I just really want to be in this, so yeah. Thanks

I'd like to help with some things related to judging; currently it seems like the judging criteria has been copied from previous OS Wars, and hasn't had much work put into it
Judging Categories
The judging categories seem a bit confusing, so here are ideas for more specific categories
  • Capability: How much can it do? Does it only have a few functions, or can it do almost anything you can think of?
Similar to content, but more descriptive about what it means
  • Experience: Is the interface user-friendly, easy to use, and understandable? How laggy and glitchy is it?
Design is more about looks; this category is specifically user interface design
  • Aesthetic: How does it look? Does it have a distinct, unique style and look pleasing? Does the aesthetic help make it understandable?
Specifically the looks of the design
  • Creativity: Does it use original ideas, or does it use the same ideas that most people use?
Instead of an entire category for requirements, which seemed a bit too big for just requirements, creativity promotes making cooler original concepts—perhaps points could just be taken off from the total for requirements instead of having such a big category for them
These categories work well for all tasks (except capability isn't necessary for thumbnail and intro), and seem to describe the most important needs in an OS
Judging Scale
Judging off of numbers can be hard because people have different opinions on what each number means, so maybe judge based on emojis that better describe how good something is (decimals can still be used for in between), which translate into certain numbers of points gained

(Aesthetic and Creativity scale has less options and is worth less because the categories are less important)
For less confusion about why each grade was given, comments could also be given by each judge for each category explaining why each score was given
Judging Presentation
Build up hype for the results! Maybe keep grades kept secret and given by the judges privately, then when the project with the results is shared, there are no results yet—just a countdown to when they will be released; shortly before the countdown ends, you go to the project where, if on the right account, there is a special interface to input the results, and when the countdown ends, the project automatically takes the inputed results and uploads them to the cloud, where everyone waiting can see (I could help do the cloud stuff if you like the idea)
Anyways, let me know if you like any of the ideas :)
