Recently, about 2 weeks ago, a user named @Sekonik joined and created a studio called “NEX Curation”. It spread VERY fast and gained about 2500 followers, and probably almost double as many curators. Then, about one week after the creation, it was deleted, and many people said because it's a scam. Then, I decided to recreate it, in hopes that @Sekonik made a mistake and accidentally deleted it or did it on purpose. Now, many think NEX us a scam, when it's really not. I would like to know exactly why people think that NEX is a scam. So far, all of the previous reasons people have about it are completely false is every way possible.

According to this, the current theory is that the original NEX was trying to be the front page curation studio. This means that people would be able to propose projects to be curated on the front page.

However, there is an official studio maintained by the ST, so there was no need for such a thing.

I understand that, but I'm confused why people think it's a scam. A scam is supposed to mislead you, when all the NEX studio is doing is creating another way, and a bit easier way, to get well deserved popularity. In the FPC system, it's much harder to get a project chosen, but not in NEX, which is why we have created an alternative. You don't have to agree, but I'm just saying…

Exactly.

What you're doing is you're acknowledging the fact that you are trying to at least “create” another “FPC” studio.

I agree that “scam” was the wrong term, but still.

NEX wasn't trying to become a front page studio. That already exists, as you obviously know. It did, however become a great alternative for the FPC system if you weren't very familiar with the whole scratch community. In NEX people would only propose projects to be put on the studio.

I think some people thought of it as a scam because they were confused how it works. I think many people didn't read the description, so they we're confused as to why they can't add projects and what to do. I think this confusion made people think of it as a “Scam”. I myself was invited and I read the description, but to me it was still a bit confusing on how it would work.

What I understand from this is that it's too hard to put effort into a decent project. It seems that NEX is trying to eliminate the “hard work” part because people are too lazy to make a project.

When I say easier, I mean a easier way to get a project chosen because there aren’t 50 people spamming the chosen curator every minute. I don’t mean for people to be lazy and not put effort, that would be pointless.

… but that's literally… the job of the FPC…. having a bunch of people ask me if I could curate x or y project did not bother me at all when I was FPC..
