Scratch 4.0?

There probably won't be a Scratch 4.0 because HTML5 isn't going anywhere. They made Scratch 3.0 because Flash is being discontinued, but there's no reason for HTML5 to meet the same fate, and there's currently no other alternatives that'll work on the web.

Then why was Scratch 2.0 made?
And what about 1.4?

Scratch 2.0 was made to allow a Scratch online editor (there was no online editor in Scratch 1.4). Also Flash was a lot faster than Java, which is what the Scratch 1.0 player was based on.

Scratch 1.4 was made as an improvement to Scratch 1.3, with a new layout, new blocks, and other stuff. It is understandable that this update occurred, as Scratch was still in its early stages as a whole.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.

The questions were rhetorical, but nevermind.
(To Sheep_maker): See? There would probably be other reasons to make Scratch 4.0.

Perhaps if WebAssembly starts going places - I imagine that would make a great speed boost.

There probably wont be, Since scratch 2 was made for an online editor, 1.1-1.4 to add new features and fix bugs, and 3.0 to make it html5 since flash is gonna die, allthough, scratch 4 might come out in about 4-7 years to add features, theres allways mods tho, they however cant be shared on the scratch site, but on modshare and if your skilled in python or know someone who is the appstore! (then theres also unity)

Scratch 4.0?

Well, seeing as Scratch 3.0 is honestly not as good as 2.0, it will probably be worse.

Generation 1. Copy and paste this into your siggy, then increase the generation by 1. Then say you continued the generation on @GullumIncComicz profile and the number of your generation. If your generation was already commented, then remove this from your siggy.

Honestly, I find 3.0 better than 2.0. Therefore 4.0 will be even better.

Your argument isn't valid because that's a matter of subjectivity.

If there is a 4.0 (or a 3.1), it'll probably just be improvements. I would kinda think it would come out at some point, as the developers decided to make 3.0 instead of just changing 2.0 to HTML5 (which some say is possible), so it would make sense that there would be another version in future to introduce new features.
