please remove the 200 character limit on your about me and your what i'm working on, that way, we can make a about me and your what i'm working on without a annoying 200 character limit in place to stop us

That's not a duplicate, the link is suggesting adding *more* characters to it. This topic is about removing them entirely.

Whoa whoa, removing it? That's risky and could get very annoying, very fast. Especially considering the limited space we have to read it. (it's quite small, you have to scroll even ever so slightly on my ‘about me’ and that's 198 characters)
Much like the supposed duplicate, raising it to 500 would make sense. That's about what you need to describe yourself.

We must have some kind of limit on text fields. Otherwise, spammers can chew up a lot of space on the servers and take up network bandwidth. If the suggestion is to remove the limit entirely, it is rejected.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.
