Litteraly just started making a project and it won't save...
Hello fellow Scratchers!
Today I encountered a strange problem. My project wont save for some reason, even though it only had 1 sprite, 1 sound, and 2 blocks. I found it very unreasonable, because I had done barely anything in that project. I tried deleting that project, and I tried to save it, and it never saved. Note even a message. It just took forever. Now, I only had 1 sprite and 1 sound this time. I tried again, and same thing. Anybody know why this is happening?
I might try again, and see if it finally works.
Thanks! <3
EDIT: I did it with other projects, and it worked with them.
EDIT 2: It just so happens that it has to be so specific of a project that it won't save. All I can think of is the 72.64 second mp3 song named “menuLoop”, but even that is strange because I can also let Scratch load 6 minute mp3 files that cannot be edited…
EDIT 3: Turns out it was the song. Still don't know why it won't work…

Hrmm. I've had that problem before. Couldn't do much about it though. Maybe try removing the song and then saving it and putting it back. That's the only thing I can think about doing.

But then it wont save with the music. Hrmm. I've had that problem before. Couldn't do much about it though. Maybe try removing the song and then saving it and putting it back. That's the only thing I can think about doing.
Think about it like this: So, when you make a project, and place a block down, it tells you to save now, and if you dont, at some point it will just auto-save.
Same thing goes for things like costumes and sounds. And even if not, I would still have to change blocks which means saving, or in some other cases, auto-saving. But since the mp3 on scratch wont work, it gives me the message written in orange.
I would also like this thread closed now, since I found another suiting song for my game which is also an mp3 file that actually works, and therefore I do not need to worry about the problem anymore.
Thanks for trying, @sushi_slamer, (Maybe it could've worked but I found another song anyway and the message you sent didn't even appear in my mail when you sent it so I didn't know about it until you suggested your idea)

I am almost 100% sure this problem is linked to the sound. One time I downloaded a large sound. and it would not save. Apparently a new update on scratch has allowed these projects to save, but the sound is lost in the process. I even tried cutting down the sound, exporting it, and loading it back on to a different project, and it still didn't work.

There is a limit of 50 megabytes for projects, and individual assets can't be larger than 10 megabytes. If you trying to use a large sound asset, that might be an issue.
Seems to me though that you have obviously kept your assets under 50 10 MB. Have you tried downloading your project and working from the offline editor?

I don't really know, but the mp3 file i used was shorter than any other mp3 file I used, i think the largest mp3 file I ever used was 6 minutes long.
(“BaronVonBadGuy - I See People And They Say Hi”, if anyone was wondering.)
The song I wanted to use is also only 20 10 megabytes.
EDIT: Nevermind, I re-read @ResExsenion's statement I finally realized the problem. But why is the song 20MB anyway?
