Anyone who can relate?
Scratch 2.0 is better. Or maybe I just got used to it.
Anyway, Why does Scratch Online use the 3.0 version now?
Suggestion:
Make A feature to let the user customize his/her editor to use 2.0 or 1.4.

If that's a feature, tell me how.

Somewhat rejected. The ST spent so much time on the new 3.0 editor, I doubt they'll be going back now. There is no feature.

But if you really like the old editor, what I suggest is that you download the offline 2.0 editor here, and create your project there. Then, just upload your project file to the 3.0 online editor and share it.

Infrequently active.

It feels weird to see how far we've come. I hope you're well, wherever you are!

First off, whether 2.0 or 3.0 is better is a matter of opinion. You can't state that everyone likes 2.0, which you seem to be thinking. I like 3.0 more, for instance.

The reason the Scratch Team made 3.0 was because Scratch 2.0 ran on Adobe Flash, which is dying in 2020. Some browsers were already starting to no longer support Adobe Flash even before 2020, so they had to make Scratch 3.0 ASAP. FYI, 3.0 uses HTML5, which is why it is compatible with a lot of mobile devices.

No. Just download the offline editor(s). You can download the offline 2.0 editor here, and the 1.4 editor there.

Yep, this is rejected, and so it will not be added.

2.3 Set the editor to look like older versions of Scratch
Some users prefer the look and feel of the Scratch 2.0 editor, and have suggested that the editor look like Scratch 2.0, but still run off of HTML5 like Scratch 3.0 does. However, this would be more complicated for educational and documentation purposes. It could be confusing if someone is trying to learn Scratch from someone who is using a completely different layout of the editor than them.

In addition, the Scratch Team changed the design for a reason: to make it easier, more intuitive, and friendlier for newcomers to use. If you dislike the Scratch 3.0 editor, you can still download the Scratch 1.4 or Scratch 2.0 offline editors; for more information, see #2.4 on this list.

However, the Scratch Team is still considering adding options to change the block size inside the editor, an option to switch the side of the screen the stage is on, and an option for a dark mode interface. It may be some time, though, before these ideas are implemented; please be patient.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.
