Okay so someone posts on a old topic, sure, okay, they made a mistake. But then 2 weeks later a minimod comes and replies to them, telling them not to necropost. Well the minimod just necroposted, making the situation worse. Why do we keep old topics open? Make them automatically close if no one has posted in at least 3 months.

While this is true, if the necroposter sees it, they will understand that they shouldn't necropost. Plus most of the time the minimod will report the topic to have it closed anyways.

Support though.
This would greatly reduce the amount of necroposts, which would make it a lot easier on the ST.
Though this should only apply on certain forums, since necroposting in Suggestions isn't really a big deal.
