My project isn't able to save after uploading sound

Hi!

I have got quite a big problem.
I am trying to upload a song from my computer, and it works fine, but when I try to save it, it says that my project was unable to save. If I remove the song tho, it saves like always. I find this very strange since it worked just some days ago, but I really wanna upload this song, due to the long loading time of the project. Any further help will be appreciated!
.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 74.0.3729.131, No Flash version detected

Best regards,

I think this happens all the time. Either you'll have to shorten it (use an external program if you can't in Scratch) or use a different song.

It will work if you use an mp3 file. For example, the songs I make are exported out as a wav file, which doesn't save if imported into Scratch. I have to convert the wav files into mp3 files. I find https://online-audio-converter.com/ to be the most reliable converter.

Yes that works, but though a workaround may be available, I'd still highly support the idea of fixing this bug because I also had similar problems and it's really annoying when they keep recurring.

Although, this seems like the best solution for me. Thank you guys once again!

There is an asset size limit of 10 MB (which I've confirmed from my own experiences), so your song must've been over 10 MB in size. I see your solution is fixed, but I just wanted to give the reason as to why.

It's NOT because the sound is too big a file. It's smaller than that. The trick I've found, is throw my computer into max performance mode, close out of every other tab, tell my brother to get off the wifi, and upload the song into an empty project, so the sound file is the ONLY thing in that project, and then save it and wait 10 minutes while it saves super slowly. Then, I backpack the song, go to the desired destination project, take it from the backpack, cross my fingers, and wait 10 minutes while it saves again. Doesn't work every time, but it works ok-ish. If that doesn't work, cut the song in half and upload the two halves separately.

I was actually starting to think it had to do with computer (and network) performance. Good point!
