Glitch on iPhone

So I tried testing to see if one of my projects was mobile-friendly yesterday but when I did it, no sound came through my speaker. When I turned my phone off of silent mode, the sound came through. Is anyone else having this problem or is this the way it was programmed?

My phone: iPhone 6
My OS: iOS 12.2
My browser: Latest version of iOS Chrome

First of all, wow. I didn't expect seeing you here. Second, maybe you're just confused as to which way the switch is, as the system cannot produce any sound when it's muted. But, this could be some weird glitch that I do not know about. *shrugging noises*

Annoyingly, my signature was eaten by a small, white dog. How annoying.

1. Ok. 2. I always have my mute switch on silent with no vibrations but when I play a YouTube video, sounds come through the speaker but Scratch only works when the mute switch is off.

YouTube's playing of audio when the phone is set to silent happens when the “Tap to Unmute” button is pressed. Trying to do this in Scratch would cause confusion, as people would wonder why Scratch is making noise when their phone is on silent.
