So the great thing about Scratch 3's vector editor is that we can now have control over how the vector path curves as it crosses a point using the two handles. Really neat! …Except sometimes, a point splits into two, each having only a single handle of the original. And that's… not a good thing, I imagine.
This happens both in the online editor and the new Scratch Desktop at random. At one point, this even happened with one of the corners of a newly created square!

To clarify, this isn't me attempting to select a point only to be just slightly off, causing a new point to be created. This is when I do something with a vector shape, select a different costume/sprite, and come back to it only to find that one of the points had split into two separate points.

Bump because this seems to be happening to me more frequently as of late. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's suffering from this…

Ok, I haven't really gotten around to posting an update and a screencap up until now.
Why now? Because this bug is still happening, and it's occurring way more frequently than it should be.

Online Editor after resizing one of the included sprites in the Scratch Library, taken and posted today.
(this happened with the inner star as well, on the same point)

I found the same thing happening in my laptop too. Also happened in my desktop. No matter how I delete the newly created point, it just comes back.

Bump. This happens countless times to my vector objects and causes vector thorns.

Oh my gosh, this happens to me CONSTANTLY. It's legitimately making it SOO frustrating to work with vectors. It seems it just happens to costumes that are not currently selected, which is really weird.

Huh, windows 11 and opera gx seem to be so similar technically to windows 10 and regular opera that it detects them as windows 10 and just opera.
I actually use windows 11 and opera gx

Also, sometimes bezier vertexes don't split into two, but you can still drag the individual control points without affecting the other, making it just a sharp vertex with 2 curved sides

I noticed this to, but I actually want to deliberately cause it manually to a specific point. what I'm talking about is causing the point to become a single point with two “vectors”, kind of like a curved point, but disconnected from each other so I can control them individually, while still having it be one point. one way I do this is by having a point on “curved”, placing two points on “pointed” around it, and select the curved point. I thought it was just that, but thanks to this discussion, now know that there's another step involving switching costumes. I actually find this glitch somewhat helpful in its own ways.

Yeah, this is still happening to me too. I use scratch (Rather stupidly) to make vector sprites for high quality conversion to sprites in other programs and its frequently happening since i have to make around 30+ costumes each animation. This looks unlikely to be solved. :<

bumpert. I am experiencing the same issue on ALL DEVICES, ALL OPERATING SYSTEMS, and ALL BROWSERS. It is extremely annoying when you are handling with a curved vector point

I think it's supposed to be a feature… it isn't that helpful tho
