Scratch GUI
I can see improvements in the new version but my immediate reaction is not good purely from the point of view of the basic visual effect. I find it almost unreadable and just too bright especially when a project is running and scripts are highlighted. The blocks may be bigger but the text is less readable. This may be because, at nearly 60, I'm in the older age group of Scratchers.
Making a comparison with Scratch 2 and 1.4 the difference appears at least partly to be due to the move to a white background for the script area. This works well on my iPad but on my desktop is just too bright.
Being able to apply some sort of theme or skin might be one solution.
I also notice that the project page no longer shows the number of scripts and sprites. This is something I've always found useful when helping on the forum - a project with 50 scripts is lot less daunting to start looking at than one with 250. Is this something that will be put back in place or is there another way to see the information?
I'm sure I'll get used to the other changes but the changes to the GUI are unfortunately non-trivial regarding my use of Scratch.
