.sb3 files not opening.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 71.0.3578.98, No Flash version detected

Hey ST, just letting you know that when I try to open a .sb3 file, it goes into the scratch 3.0 offline editor but nothing loads. However, when I press file, then load the project from there, it works. Not a huge deal breaker, but I thought i'd let you know.My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 71.0.3578.98, No Flash version detected

I have also observed the same issue in Scratch 3.0 - in previous versions the files open up perfectly - will there be a fix for this? This saves us time at the beginning of lessons as our kids can just go straight into the .sb3 files by double clicking them.

Same problem in Scratch Desktop for the Mac.

Hello if you are having this issue like I WAS then try this:

If the file is named like: Have fun or something

try this: Have fun.sb3

If that does not work I'm not really sure worked for me

because I have problems with saving … So I download every so often!

I'm having the same problem as gleamball on the Mac. Using “Open With” and choosing Scratch Desktop as the application doesn't solve it.

This is still happening on Windows, so unimpressed that this hasn't been fixed yet. So far it does seem like scratch 2.0 was better…

This is still the case.
I could click on an SB2 file and that file would open in Scratch 2.
Doubleclick on an SB3 and Scratch Desktop opens but the file does not load.
I teach a class of 30 primary schoolchildren and then run a code club for 25 at lunchtime.
Being able to get the kids up and running quickly is really important.
As said above this is a backward step. Disappointing.

.sb3 files are just meant to be not opening. At least you can open it by going to File > Load from my computer.

Neither can I, and I don't want to lose any projects when I leave this site at some point :'( It says that there isn't an application to open up the file {?}

Same here. Is there any fix to this serious problem, yet? I am also teaching kids in primary school and have generated several template sb3 files for projects. While from time to time these files can be opened in Scratch Desktop, in 80-90% of the cases nothing happens. When a file is double-clicked and started from windows desktop, Scratch will just open a new file but not the template. When trying to start the sb3 file from within Scratch 3 Desktop, nothing happens. Why it sometimes does work is not clear to me. I have spent hours trying to identify a pattern in the behavior of the program but did not succeed. However, I have the impression that the problem is less severe on my powerful laptop and more pronounced on the simpler machines used in class.

Download Scratch Desktop open it click file then click load from my computer it will bring a menu of all the files from your computer and then click the file it should end in .sb3 click open and your file will open.
