Can inactive users get featured?

If someone hasn't been active for over 5 years on Scratch, can their project(s) still be featured?

That sounds like a good question for @Paddle2See. I imagine the Scratch Team would generally try to feature active Scratchers, but I'm not 100% sure.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.

Yeah. I added the project into the Propose Projects to be Featured studio anyways, and I'll let the ST decide.

I don't know, it would depend on the case. I'm pretty sure a project can't be featured if it's older than 10 days, and I assume a user is considered “inactive” if they haven't been on in over a month.

Hmm, really? I would need a confirmation from a staff member. I guess I'll ask one of them.

I once saw a featured project whose owner wasn't active for at least 3 years. There actually were quite a lot of comments asking why a project of an inactive user got featured. I think the purpose of Featuring is not only to make certain projects famous, but also to show creative things.

Yeah, I agree. Now that I think about it, it doesn't really matter if the user is active or not - it's just the project that matters.

Now that I think about it, I have a feeling like that may have been an older rule. Generally I see new projects being featured but I think every now and then an older project will be featured.
