The Brainstorming Process

So I am assuming that most of you are here because you have no clue on what to make next. Have you exhausted all of your ideas? Not to worry my friends, this is how to come up with some new ones!

Play Some Other People's Games

Try looking in the top-loved section and see what people like. Of course, @griffpatch ‘s key detector isn’t exactly one you can take too many ideas from, there are plenty of concepts to be taken from @faceos ‘s “Scrap”. You could make a game where you build stuff out of junk, or you play as a mars rover. Of course, you should never copy a game, and you should probably mention there names in the notes and credits, as that is partially it’s purpose.

Be Random
Originallity is key to a good project…. anybody play FlomeLauncher by @flome ? What is flome? He made a project on that, also. “What is flome” got Front Paged today, and nobody would have ever IN THEIR LIFE asked “What Is Flome.” I am personally tired of the same old platformer, so why not be a little bit original? Take an underused concept and make it fun.

Simplicity

We all love giant MMORPG's, but really, you most likely do not have the time nor skill to make one. Anybody play Orbs by ReImagine (who has a seriously awesome username btw)? What is it in reality? Dodge red with your mouse. Was it fun? Heck yeah I enjoyed it! Make something that YOU can do, not something that you will be able to in the distant future.

Complexity

Okay, maybe you don't want to be simple. Be complex! Make an intricate project with layers and features! I probably should mention @FaceOS 's “Hero 2” but I should really mention “Page Turner: The Unexpected Journey.” It took @LockedOn a year to make that, and majority of people say it was one of the best games they have played on Scratch! Figure out a story and turn it into a game. Adding a plot makes things much more enjoyable: as long as the plot is feasible, of course, and not something ridiculous…

Last Remarks
Just because you have a good idea doesn't mean that you can actually do it. Try making something within your range of programming. A few more things all these projects have in common is that they have good graphics, and a thumbnail. I'm not really sure how to end this, so I'll just say nothing.
