BBCode implementation in Scratch outside forums (with exceptions)

Explanation
I am suggesting that BBCode functionality be enabled for:
- project comments,
- studio comments,
- project instructions,
- project notes and credits,
- the “about us” section in profiles
- the “what I'm working on” section in profiles
- studio descriptions, and
- class descriptions.

Tell me if I didn't mention something else that you want BBCode to be enabled for.

____________________________

Exceptions
There are BBCode capabilities that I would enlist as BBCode capabilities that I would not allow in the media listed in “Explanation” above. These are:
- the ability to directly post images,
- the custom scratchblocks functionality,
- the ability to quote (because of the existence of the reply function), and
- lists.

Tell me if I didn't mention something else that you want to be an exception.

Reasoning
It would provide opportunities for Scratchers to do awesome things, to personalize their profile, to make their projects look professional, and more. It would also provide freedom for Scratchers to express their ways and desires.

The comments is a duplicate, but I don't believe project and profile text boxes has been suggested to have BBCode. Although I don't really think those places need BBCode, so I'd stick with the comments suggestion.

I used to be active on the forums, but I have mostly moved past Scratch. I still do check my Scratch messages, so if you'd like to talk to me, just leave a comment on my profile. My main project on Scratch was Cookie Clicker, but my newest project is Snake Snake, a game based off of Snake, but with two snakes, and you can play either singleplayer or multiplayer.

I already stated why I do not support this suggestion; I do not support it as I do not believe it is a good idea. If you still don't believe that is not good enough of an explanation, I can tell you that I do not believe it is a good idea because I think it is a bad idea.
Also, grammar is very important, it along with proper punctuation and spelling can help make ideas much clearer.
I think what @KJRYoshi is getting at is, is there a particular reason that you think this is not a good idea?

For the original post, I'm going to be very, very particular about this.

Support only for the following: bold, italics, underlining, stroke. No support for the rest.

I can see the four I mentioned as good ideas to add variety to text. Sometimes I want to emphasize a certain word, and to do that, I've had to resort to CAPITALIZING my letters, which seems rather informal and “shout-y”.

However, the rest are either very problematic, or useless:
  • Pictures: This could easily be abused for inappropriate images, as well as particularly large images that take up a large section of the comments.
  • Links: Useless, as we can already post links. If we made it so that we can disguise a link under some words, that would make it easier to hide a link to a “free virus” website.
  • Big/Small: I don't really like the idea of using this in comments or elsewhere. It works well in the forums for the sake of making headers and side comments, but I don't think it would work well in comments.
  • Lists: This could lead to spammy comments that generate a very long list of absolutely nothing important.
  • Quotes: Mostly useless, I'd just reply to a comment, or put a certain comment in quotes if I want to quote someone.
  • Emojis: Useless, for Scratch already has emojis, and I'd argue that those emojis are better quality than the ones in the forum.
  • Black Globe: I don't know why people would want to use this in comments, so I don't think it's that useful.
  • Scratchblocks: Like lists, this could lead to a bunch of spammy comments. Blockspamming is already a problem on the forums, so I don't think we need to bring it to the website.

In short, I can't think of any problems with using bold, italics, underlining, and stroke. But the rest do have some tough problems.

Edit: did not read the entire post. Disregard the stuff that is crossed out.

It just occurred to me that I did not read your entire post, and that you had listed exceptions. I am sorry.

My original post still holds. If you want, ignore the stuff I said about Scratchblocks, images, and quotes.

I am considering some of the things you have said above. I am going to update the main post to reflect what I would establish as exceptions.

I have added lists as an exception. I also added text sizing as an exception, though only for comments. (Not profiles and projects.), though the other proposed exceptions are not worthy to be exceptions in my standards. Reason being:
- Links: If you have to post full links every time, it wastes space and looks unprofessional. You can hover over a link to see what it leads to.
- Emojis: There are more emoji varieties in the forums than in the comments, profiles, etc.
- Black Globe: Useful if you're trying to ask tech help from a tech expert.
- Text Sizing: It works in profiles and projects for headers (for example: putting your username on the top of your about me, marking sections of your project instructions/notes and credits, etc.), though not comments.
