Replace the two text boxes on your profile to one, bigger one with no word limit (maybe).
This would be a lot easier if you have a lot to say!

Personally, I like the way that those text boxes are laid out right now. “About Me” and “What I'm Working On” can be used for two different things, and the low character limit allows users to quickly glance at each category without much effort.

Absolutely no support for “no word limit”. This will increase the chance that people can spam in their “About Me”, including copy/pasting entire Wikipedia articles, for instance. An extremely long “About Me” might crash the website, and if anything, it will make it easier for inappropriate content to be present on the website, since no one would see it to report it.

I agree with Za Chary on the word limit, however I'm more neutral on combining the two categories. Personally, I like the separation as I feel having the “What I'm Working on” part encourages people to come up with new projects however I know that it doesn't get much use and the excess characters could be better used in the “About Me” for some users. Perhaps it should be a togglable thing?

Yeah a toggle thing would be cool, so if you wanted to have more characters you could.

Maybe have the character count for the standalone “about me” be x2.5 the amount for when “what I'm working on” isn't visible, since the header for that also takes up space?
Obviously the ST would have the final say in the character limit, that was just my idea.

I honestly kind of like the separation of the About Me and WIWO. I use the About Me for information on myself and the WIWO for updates/misc. information.

I do have some support for increasing the character limit, although probably not an infinite limit. Even project/studio descriptions and forum posts, interestingly enough, have a character limit. Maybe the limit could be increased to somewhere like 500 characters, like a comment?

That's kind of a lot, when you think about it. After all, like previously said by others, it is supposed to be a preview / overview of what's going on. I'd suggest perhaps 300 characters instead ^^

If it's optional, and you take the 2 character limits and combine them to make the new character limit, then I support.
