I can't find right now a reason to use it, but you might never know when someone may really use it.

I have one reason why someone would use it:

To keep track of all of the topics that have new posts while they were inactive on Scratch.

Plus, I'm going to be inactive until August 20th.

Support. I have no idea when there is a new post any more so I have to click on the sub-forums. It seems to be a bug that the dots don't re-appear. It's actually impossible to get the dots back once you click that button. Basically it acts like you are logged out.
