When on preview.scratch.mit.edu I noticed that the Voice Recognition extension, that was said to be coming soon is now gone! What happened to it? Is it still going to be added in the future or is it gone forever? I was kind of excited for it.

It's there for me, but it's called “speech recognition”.

In my Lucky7 Mod, I enabled the speech recognition extension and none of the blocks were functional.
This might've been why it was removed.

Yeah, I hope this is the reason. If it's for privacy issues (example: people recording someone using a project) then 1, it should ask for permission and 2, there should be an icon when a project is recording.

But it used to be grayed out and say “Coming Soon”. If it was already inaccessible, why delete it from the editor?

Maybe it is a update related to the Scratch 3 beta.
The extension may or may not be in the beta, but probably will be in the full release of Scratch 3.
