I don't really read any Creepypasta, but some of the characters are pretty interesting.
My favorites are probably Smile Dog and Ticci Toby.

I tend to like creepypastas that focus less on monsters/characters as they are often more focused on being unsettling and genuinely scary rather than focusing more on trying to interest me in the cool character the author came up with. I think one of my favourites, though I'm not entirely sure if it's a creepypasta or just a scary story, is the one where a police man comes to the house of an old woman in a wheelchair after she rung the police due to a death that occurred in her house- if you couldn't tell, I can't remember what it's called.
I have been thinking about writing my own “lost episode” style creepypasta in which a guy who likes to buy terrible bootleg movies finds a odd-looking kid's show DVD in a local charity shop and decides to add it to his collection. It sounds a bit cliche right now but I'm trying to improve it in order to make it a more unique story- any ideas?

I like Slender Man.

My favorite is probably Eteled, especially Sam's Story. Eteled starts off as being portrayed just like any other scary creepypasta character (Ben, Sonic.exe, Gregory, etc.), but we eventually get more character to him. (SPOILERS START HERE) As a kid, he was abused by his schoolmates and his father. His mother didn't abuse him, but she was constantly sad. He got a job at Nintendo in 1998, and that job lasted until he was 29 and one day short of his birthday in 2006. He took a Wii, went into the back room, made himself as a Mii, and then got electrocuted by the console while it was malfunctioning. He died shortly after. Apparently, his soul went into the Mii he created: Eteled. He had found the delete button, and was curious, until he actually deleted himself, and he went to the place where deleted Miis go, a hallway where they are tied up to life support machines. Eteled was scared at first, but he eventually found out how to escape. And that's how the character of Eteled was born. (SPOILERS END HERE) It's nice to see something other than “HYPER REALISTIC BLOOD STARTING POURING OUT OF HIS HYPER REALISTIC BLOODSHOT EYES” every once in a while, and Eteled proves it.
