Something I REALLY want in scratch. [onion skins for animaiton]

Hey, so… I actually would REALLY like this to be in scratch now, or in 3.0

I would like the option to turn on or off the ability to see a ghost of your previous costume in a sprite when editing. Like, its not there, just, a ghost outline of the previous costume of your sprite. When in bitmap, probably not vector, You know, that animating thingy that's in like, flash? I think? It just makes animating SUPER easy. And alot of people animate on scratch! ALOT! This would be super useful. I do not know if this has already been suggested or not, or if its not possible or anything. Please give me some feedback on this subject. Thanks!

Edit: I see many people saying this is a duplicate, It's not. I have no hard proof it isn't, but I have been on scratch for 2 years, if that helps. I do not know if anyone has ever requested this before, if someone has, I guess I'm sorry. But, until someone can show me a post requesting the same thing, I am not leaving this.

Also, I now know what this is called, it's called onion skins. Thanks, @Flowermanvista for telling me this.

I'm pretty sure this is rejected.

You talkin about onion skins? I understand that this may be a useful feature, but most people would probably find it completely unnecessary, not to mention it adds complexity, which is the antithesis of the purpose of Scratch: to be a simple and easy to learn programming language.

YES. Thats it. Onion skins. And yes, many users would find it unnecessary/confusing, but I want it as a toggleable feature (is that a word??), that you can turn on or off, (most likely defaulted as off) for the more advanced users, again, it would be incredibly useful for me, and for more.

Rejected? So, the scratch team has officially said no? Cuz if so I need you to give me a link to were they did.

Not really. Scratch isn't just for coding, it's a pretty decent site for animating and other similar things too. After all, they wouldn't add the paint editor if it were a site strictly for coding, would they?
Plus, I don't think it'd add complexity. If anything, it'd probably do the opposite, as many animators use this to help them animate faster.

Thanks for the support!

I think this is probably a duplicate, if not rejected, as I've seen this idea around before. Semi-support anyway, it could be useful for animators/artists but you could just start using art/animation programs that have them and transporting the images/frames back into scratch- It will probably be better for your skills long term as it acquaints you with more professional programs.

It's not a duplicate. That one is a costume effect. Onion skin is used for animating.

But yes, it would be useful. Scratch isn't an animation program, but I think it would help people trying to use the scratch editors for art for games.

It looks like this is a duplicate topic of this one over here (among others) so I'll close it to keep the conversation all in one place.

Please use the existing topic in the link above.

By the way, I think this would be a very useful feature as well. Hopefully, it will be added

I don't know who that is, this isn't a duplicate. I didn't know anyone else wanted this, I just thought of it myself while animating a project I will be uploading soon.
