Colour Divide Fanzine

Colour Divide Fanzine

So much for late night thoughts: about 24 hours ago, my brain vomited out an idea I thought would just be another random, passing bit of creativity I would never bring to life. And then I brought it up to @bubble103.

Boi, did that explode.

At 9:36 PM, I somehow managed to wrangle my brain together to come up with the idea for a Colour Divide fanzine. But before we can start… what is a fanzine, you may ask? For that, we look to Google.

fan·zine
/ˈfanˌzēn/
noun
a magazine, usually produced by amateurs, for fans of a particular performer, group, or form of entertainment.

Fanzines are a good way to put together different fan-made, printable media together in the form of an unofficial magazine. Think of them as multi-page picture collages alongside bits of text here and there. While they can be made just for fun, some people put so much effort into fanzines that they look professional enough to be called prozines.

What I really need to make a good Colour Divide fanzine, however, are people to contribute through newly made creations. I can ask people who've already made fan-art/fan-fictions for permission to use what they've made, but I also hope to get a fresh flow of fan-made media in my zine. So, any volunteers?

I need the following:
  • excerpts from Colour Divide fan-fiction
  • Colour Divide fanart from various artists (and even comics)
  • (possibly) screenshots of sheet music arrangements from/based off the Colour Divide OST
  • unofficial spin-off screenshots

In the final product, these will all be alongside screenshots and quotes from the official Colour Divide animated series. My plan is to put the fanzine together on an off-scratch application, screenshot the pages and upload them online so that I can use the links to provide the pages here on the forums. That way, anyone who can access scratch can screenshot and print their own physical copy of the fanzine. I hope to get this all done before school starts for me; therefore, if this kick starts with enough contributions from other people, the deadline will be August 8, 2018 - two months from when I am typing this.

For all those who plan to help, thank you, and good luck!

Not exactly. I'll be picking and choosing paragraphs that I like to add to the zine

Sure! Could I do Art and/or ficshion fiction writing?

Example of fiction writing:

Charity slumped in her uncomfortable, dull chair as the sun shone over the town. Nothing could cheer her up, not even the sound of birds tweeting. Cassie was missing. And that, was that.

So, Here's my story. I don't think it's my best, but let me know.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

It was a Monday. Lila groaned, her bracelet gleaming dully. She was going to ‘school’, since silver isn’t enough. She quickly flinged herself into a gleaming, silver shirt and twinkling, gold, tight blouse. Auntie Scarlet was pacing up and down, you could hear her footsteps easily. Thump. Thump. That meant one thing. She was late. She slipped on her shoes, and told Scarlet and Mum that she’s going class. She began to hurtle, until she bumped into somebody. “Hey, wait up,” they said. Lila didn’t. She dashed even faster. Then, they appeared again. Their long, blonde hair was swishing side to wicked side. Why was that girl stopping her go school? She soon found out. It was her. The rude violet. Emmy. “So, where you hurried to?” execrable Emmy sneered. Lila tried to push her aside but Emmy stayed statue still. The town clock showed 5 minutes past 8. That means 5 minutes late. The sun shone brightly, but Lila was glum. Emmy was not helping her spirits. Then, in a blaze of violet light, a snake slithered around her, it’s dark purple, vampire-looking skin reflected on the sky. The snake went around and around Lila, leaving a small violet trail behind. Lila pondered, I could probably levitate over that,. But it was getting heftier and larger. Looks like the detention room will be seeing her soon.

I hope you like it! I can do another if it's not quality, and add things to make it better!

Ah well, I finally wrote something I was happy with. It's a bit long, but It's what I have. So here, a story about my characters:
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
There is usually something that defines you as a person. Something that is important in their life. Sometimes that's their personality. Or a relationship. Or maybe an event in their life. But what defined Kira? She didn’t exactly know. Maybe it was her determination. Or maybe it was the bracelet that her parents had given her, before they disappeared. Either way, she wasn’t sure why.
“This is so confusing.” She muttered to herself, before taking a bite out of the apple she was eating. Her legs swung back and forth in anticipation, and she tapped her fingers on the roof. “What defines you…”
“Um, what?” A voice asked. It was Kira’s best friend Aria. Her dark hair was pulled back in her signature braid, held back by Aria’s favorite red ribbon. Her baby hairs framed her emerald eyes nicely, and she grinned. “What interesting thoughts are you thinking out loud today?”
Kira sighed. “Sorry Aria.”
“Its okay. Your thoughts are interesting.” Aria said, chewing on her breakfast. “But you’ve been doing that a lot lately. Are you feeling okay?”
“Well…” Kira thought, rolling her apple in her palms. “There’s a lot happening right now. Your test is later today, and Mrs. Armitage has been kinda snappish lately…”
“But that’s kinda her thing.” Aria pointed out. It was true. Mrs. Armitage was the middle-aged woman who ran the girls orphanage. She didn’t have much patience for the younger kids though, like Kira’s younger sister Auralee.
“Fine.” Kira said. “More snappish than usual. And I’ve been thinking about some interesting stuff Lee told me.”
“And what was that?” Aria asked.
“Lee talked about something she heard in school, or something. It was about what defines you as a person. It could be anything really, like an event or personality. So It got me wondering, what defines me?”
“But can’t you chose how to define yourself?” Aria asked.
“Yeah, I guess.” Kira paused. “What defines you?” She asked Aria.
Aria looked down, something flashing in her eyes. “I don’t know.” She thought aloud. “Maybe…When I got this scar.” She pointed to the scar on her left cheekbone. “It wasn’t pretty.”
“Yeah.” Kira nodded. She took another bite out of her apple, and chewed it thoughtfully. “I bet it would be.” The two best friends sat on the orphanage roof for a while, eating their half breakfast, until Lee came outside and called for Kira and Aria to come down. They obliged, sliding carefully off the roof. But when Kira asked Lee why she had called her down, Lee replied, “It’s time for the test.”
