2 Follow Options Suggestion
But isn't the whole point of the follow feature so that you can know when a user you're following does something? I think that there should be two options when you follow someone. I would enjoy there to be one option where you get notified when the user does something (like the current and only following option) and one where you follow someone and you don't get notified when the user does something.

No support, you ‘re supposed to follow someone so that you know what they’ve been up to on Scratch. Also, this could be used for Free Follow accounts.

The problem is that by separating following into two categories-(one serving the actual purpose of following while the other is a more hollow support status- you make following for the sake of following (AKA F4F and free follow accounts) more common and make following more about numbers again. If you want to just show a user support rather than actually see what they're up to, give them a favourite or a like on one of their projects.Well, notified following can also be used for free following. No support, you ‘re supposed to follow someone so that you know what they’ve been up to on Scratch. Also, this could be used for Free Follow accounts.

That argument just disproves your own suggestion. If you want notifications for followers, I think there's already multiple different suggestions for how that would work. But then again, what is the purpose of subscribing to someone on YouTube without notifications on?

The follow feature isn't there to “support” users. Its whole purpose is so you can keep track of a user's activity, so you know when they share a new project for example. What if you just want to support a user without knowing what is happening? But isn't the whole point of the follow feature so that you can know when a user you're following does something? If someone is a legitimate Scratcher, yet they also do free follows, this would just make it less annoying for that account.Well, notified following can also be used for free following. No support, you ‘re supposed to follow someone so that you know what they’ve been up to on Scratch. Also, this could be used for Free Follow accounts.
