In January I got MIDI USB for ScratchX but it is stagnant project awaiting Scratch 3.0. Trying to port extension to Scratch 3.0 in development.

I have been learning about MIDI V2.0 using the new Roland Go Keys 61k that was firmware updated to support ScratchX extension.
It works but am worried about ScratchX going away when Scratch 3 is released.
I have been getting the Scratch 3 off GITHUB working but still not sure how to make the Roland play MIDI notes instead of
the internal sounds of Scratch 3.

Picture and description of this synth at:

and

I think early Scratch did external MIDI but can't find how old and therefore new Scratch 3 identify the existence of the external MIDI device.

If any one is knowledgeable in the MIDI world then that is the help I need.

My browser / operating system:
Linux - Ubuntu Studio 17.10,
Chrome 62.0.3202.94,
Flash 29.0 (release 0)

New to ScratchX first in January 2018 and now in April 2018 watching for Scratch 3.0 offline editor release.
Want to do MIDI music on Roland Go Keys 61k currently in ScratchX.

Moved to the Extensions forum. Should be a better fit.

Thanks.
I looked for delete or move after thinking about it elsewhere.
