I feel the need to bring this subject up as it is a reoccurring problem that has happened several times in projects. This has affected four of my projects and one project I know. They work normally, but the thumbnails are misleading. Most of them are image projects consisting of an image for another user (whether it be a request, fan-art, or art trade). This is a strong bug/glitch on the site and affects EVERYONE and EVERY Desktop PC, Laptop, and Device that connects to the internet.

The following was posted on an old forum topic with the exact same problem last year, with the last activity before it being on December 20th, 2017:
The BLANK PROJECT THUMBNAIL is back and has haunted me and FantasyStoryOfficial on quite a few projects. I tried everything I could to reset it back to normal the last time it happened, but now I think it seems to be non-stop. I think I'll be one to say it is beyond server lag if something like THIS happens, as I don't usually have this problem on an iMac (okay, updating Thumbnails doesn't affect them, but the Scratch Cat Blank Project Thumbnail still occurs for them). Windows 10 and Other Network Devices have this problem going on.

Drawing Test (M1mikyu)
Lonekat Running | This one was the one that got affected before, and yes I tried rapid save and it didn't work

Fantasy Story Valor Side-Story Possibility | made by FantasyStoryOfficial

If you have been affected by this, please let me know. This problem needs to be dealt with as this really makes people look unprofessional when their thumbnail is really eye-catching.

Don't get too excited because of the recent patch made by the Scratch Team, the glitch is still going on as we speak, mostly still on my projects on my profile. This addendum will be removed once those projects and the one by FantasyStoryOfficial have their original thumbnails restored.

Slow server updates. Update thumbnails and wait a few days.

Yeah, I tried that the last time it happened and it never went through. Months later the thumbnail was restored and then it disappeared early this morning.

Huh, weird. The most I've had to do is spam save for 10 minutes straight and wait a day.

If some one wants to make a new project, and then open the my Stuff tab, turn the background red, Save the project (It does it Automatically), an then reload the My Stuff Page, the Thumbnail is still stuck at the Default project thumbnail. If then can press down Ctrl+F5, and trying to Delete all Cached Files, it is STILL stuck. And it will never be fixed.

Mind adding me to the list? I've had one project with a completely black thumbnail and two with the wrong thumbnail even after i've re-saved the project with the correct thumbnail multiple times over the course of a week or two.

It just doesn't seem to work like we want it to nowadays… It seems another Scratcher gets affected by this at night.

2 more affected today, that's 9 users (including myself) having this problem. Hopefully the Scratch Team gets wind of this problem as it continues to worsen as time goes on.

So try viewing the project without signing in. I do that a lot.

I tried that too. The project is normal, it's the thumbnail being a pain. Like, on my user page the link isn't broken, but the thumbnail that was supposed to replicate the project being stopped from the previous save made isn't the same as when the project is loaded.

7 more in one day. This went from a linear problem to an exponential one now. I have a feeling the Scratch Team isn't noticing this problem as it gets worse with each passing hour.

A possible fix to tide us over was found in the process, thank you AlphaHysteric for helping reyloforlife.

Thanks, the workaround by uploading into a new project is nice. But it only helps for, well new projects, not for existing ones, whose likes/favs/views should be retained. I got a bad thumbnail stored during editing just before the glitch started, and could not repair it any more afterwards. My project views have decreased by more than 50% since then.

I hope the Scratch Team fixes this, more and more people are getting affected.

You're the 19th Scratcher to get affected. Over the course of 5 days I only thought only 5 or 6 would be affected, I was wrong.

My newest project just has a white thumbnail.
In case if you're wondering, I deleted the Scratch Cat right away, saved the project with nothing in it, returned to it a day later to get started on it, and finished it the next day.

Looking at your profile I easily saw what you were talking about. That makes 20… oh dear… and no knowledge of a patch for that.

I have the same problem for two of my projects (witch are recent)

This problem always happens to me too! Any suggestions on how to fix it? You can look at my latest project “Wolves AMV” if that would help you.
