Hi everyone!
Some Scratchers are making a game jam on itch.io.
What is a game jam?
It's an event. It can be online or in real life. Within a fixed period of time, you create a game.
What is itch.io?
It's a website where one can upload games and create jams, and of course participate in jams.
How can I participate in the Scratch Jam?
Am I good enough?
Programmers of all levels are welcome! Your project will get rated by different categories, such as art, creativity and so on! So, everyone has a chance to win, even if you are a beginner programmer or a beginner artist!
Some Scratchers are making a game jam on itch.io.

How can I participate in the Scratch Jam?
- Go to https://itch.io/jam/scratch-jam-2018.
- Create your own game that has to do with the theme “evolution”. You may remix an engine, but you should do the big part of the project. You may collaborate, but everyone should get credit. You can use assets made by others, but they should be free to use, and please give credit. You can use any language (English, Spanish and so on).

Am I good enough?

Cool idea!
@frodewin: One idea (which I will not use myself since I'm already working on another one): A tower defense game with “evolving” attackers: The characteristics of the attackers (speed, strength, size…) will mutate randomly, but the most successful specimen (those you come closest to the goal before being pushed back) will influence the general direction of the development. So if you rely on a strong but slow defense, the attackers will gradually become faster / more agile, and vice versa.

Last year we had 10 games. This year we have 10 registrations so far. I'm confident that we will beat last year's result.

Sounds Very Cool, But I'm Not sure if I am Allowed to get an Itch.io Account, is there another way to join?
We would like to make other game developers aware of Scratch as a platform, that's why we chose itch.io. It also gives other itch.io-ers the possibility to comment on Scratch projects, so it brings the two worlds together. I understand that since itch.io being not primarily a children's platform not all parents might allow an account there, but perhaps it is possible that an adult puts the Scratch game in for you?
