  • Which block user should use in the beginning of a Sprite to clear or reset all sound effects?
What is the difference between a sprite and a costume?
Answer these questions.

first of all, don't leave trailing BBCode tags (your post has an unclosed [list] at the end).

anyways here is the answers to your questions:
  1. use the
    clear sound effects
block to clear all sound effects, if you're talking about “effects” like pitch or pan. if you're talking about the actual sounds, use
    stop all sounds
    .
  2. a sprite is an object in scratch that can move on the stage. a costume is an image a sprite shows.
in the future, please ask questions in the Questions about Scratch forum.

Closing a Topic

Could this mention that reporting the original post asking the ST to close it is also a way?

Hello Scratch Wiki! First, I would like to say that you are the inspiration for what I do now. My job is to convert the information you gave me into a convincing story. I am trying to make comics/animations of Scratch Cat, Gobo, and all of their friends that completely fits their established personalities. The problem with that is there is not much stuff discovered to reference from. I've learned things from DKUniverse's Scratch Iceberg, Scratch mystery, the Super Scratch Programming Adventure Book, the official Scratch Cat account, and of course, you! I would like to do two things:
  1. Request a section in the wiki that covers what the lore of Scratch (Example mascots in training). to encourage the discovery and creation of more lore.
2 because this numbered list function won't work no matter what I do…
  • Contribute to the section by adding information about Scratch that is not in the wiki yet. Example: One theory to why Scratch cat is always happy is because in Super Scratch Programming Adventure Scratchy (SSPA's version of scratch cat that has he/him pronouns instead of Scratch Cat's they/them) was split into two different cats one with his negative emotions and the other with his positive ones.

here's a brief summary of what I know about the Scratch mascots. (skip if you want)

Scratch Cat:
they/them
No modern depictions of them without a smile.
Texts in meows but can speak English.
Likes cat puns but doesn't say them themselves.

Gobo:
Has a tail.
Inspired by a plant.
Was almost the mascot of scratch.

Nano:
Wore an Ice Bear cap from we bare bears once.
Was shown in scratch day.

Pico:
they/them (according to the wiki)
Has a point on their head (a pico is another word for point)
Pranked becoming the new mascot of scratch.
Was framed by a literal squirl. (You cannot make this up)

Giga:
Was formerly an icon on the sprite library.
Has a magnifying glass.

Terra:
Shows up when setting up an email on Scratch.
Was the main character in scratch mystery.

I'm not asking to be a Scratch Wiki member because I don't think you can trust me with consistency, but if you are interested anyways, I'll try. I don't think I said all I wanted to say and my request is hard to really describe but if I did, this message wouldn't be here. So, if you have any questions please tell me.

there is a lot of lore in Scratch.
just to name a few:

deleted sprites go to MIT which in their world is called Mascots In Training.

There are multiple places named in the series “Scratch Mystery” made by people hired by the Scratch team. Scratch country, NFE land, and Banland. not verry creative names but someone out there might use these for their stories.

Kaj was became a running joke even by the moderation team. Making her turn a new leaf as Kaj the moderator.

And that's not even counting Super Scratch Programing Adventure which talks about cyberspace, the cosmic defenders, and the “secret manual”.

There is a lot of official approaches you can do for Scratch lore (some of them contradicting each other) it's just hard to find.

The Scratch Wiki only documents real-life events and phenomena relating to the main Scratch program and website. All of your statements about lore have not been confirmed by the Scratch Team (unless you're willing to provide a source), and thusly, are not documented on the wiki; if we were to allow unofficial “lore” onto the wiki, things would quickly spiral out of control as anyone can just put up some random statement without the need for any backing. The Super Scratch Programing Adventure lore would also not qualify as something that can be added to the wiki, because it is not connected to the Scratch Team in any capacity and is thus unofficial. It would be like me making up a story about a love tale between Gobo and Nano and post it online; it would have no basis against any official statements the Scratch Team has made.
