I am working on a project that needs backdrops to have a movement chapter as good as the one for the sprites does this exist in an updated version and if not how to signal this to the scratch personnnel

There is not a way to move backdrops,I suggest you to do that on a sprite,and apply to him this block:

when green flag clicked
go to x: (0) y: (0)
forever
go back (9999999999) layers
end

It's not a glitch, the backdrop is a backdrop, meaning it's just a background and therefore should not be able to move.

Two things,

1) Please turn off your caps lock.

2) Why would you need a moving background? you can make animated backgrounds without movement blocks!

It is not a bug/glitch. The stage is a background, meaning therefore you cannot move it.

Why would you need it to be moved? You could just color in a sprite as if it was the backdrop.

It's meant to be that way, and for good reason. The backdrop is, well, a backdrop, which isn't supposed to move in the first place. If you want a scrolling backdrop, you can make a sprite and have it move.

Backdrops are basically backgrounds. They can't hide or show or go on front of costumes or do anything like that.

They are meant to be backgrounds.

If you wanted to move a “backdrop” just use a sprite that is behind everything else.


If you wanted a backdrop from the library just copy and paste it from the stage then delete the backdrop.
