Best bet would to be buying product keys from Kinguin, theyre 30 bucks from about 100 and they still sell 7 keys. Otherwise, ubuntu with a Windows theme wouldn't be bad

one of the computers i've acquired is an optiplex 980. i got it in a bundle off ebay. im going to sell it wiht an i5 760, 8gb drr3 and a 1TB HDD. depending on pricing and how lucky i am, either a GT 1030 or a low power GTX 750Ti, due to OEM PSU sheningans ( i know an atx psu will fit its the oem connector to the mobo)

im going to (probably from fishy websites) find a copy of windows 7 oem for dell pc's. activate it using my OEM code on the case - then upgrade to windows 10 pro. im trying this on my Optilex 780 SFF thats kinda become my go to devices, to see if i need to have a win 10 key. will tell you guys how this goes

If you want to actually sell computers to normal people, you need an official copy of Windows for each computer. You don't want to risk going to jail(exaggeration). You could even just not do anything to upgrade the computers, just clean them up and sell them on with a copy of ChromeOS(like I do, they sell pretty well). ps. I'm not sure I'll buy a dusty breadbin from 2005 with a GTX 750 in.

oldest hardware i would consider is a core 2 quad with 8Gb ram.

most probably, something like an i5 760 - a quad core. should be okay with a gtx 750ti with games like fortnite at 1080p

i think just no windows really sounds best. apart from the dell oem idea i had

i found on microsoft's webiste the ‘media creation tool’ or something - it allowed me to just uipgrade this machine. didnt evenb ask for a jey - im assuming as windows 7 was legit on my dell, windows 10 is now legit. OEM shenangins agian? lol

ChromeOS and Windows are malware. You would be doing a disservice by providing them with that.

Right, I know it's all about the open source software these days, but calling Windows malware isn't on. How come it's malware? Because it's closed source? Then use ReactOS, that's gotten pretty far in progress and can run many Windows software.

They're selling a PC intended for gamers. No gamer wants linux.
