Remove the eggplant emoticon
We all love the Scratch emojis. Those little Scratch cats and those tiny little food icons are so adorable!
But, there's an Eggplant emoji.
It was blocked from Instagram because it was being used to symbolize something very inappropriate.
And Instagram has a higher Age Demographic.
You might be thinking, “Oh, but since Scratch is geared towards younger kids, there's not much of a risk, right?”
Well, yes, but also no.
People who are at about Instagram's age demographic who use Scratch might use the emoji for the same, inappropriate reasons.
And younger kids will see that. Oh noes!
So my suggestion to not make the eggplant emoticon usable, since people on a much older kids' website used it for inappropriate stuff, which could then be brought into Scratch.
Thoughts?
And please remember to keep this conversation appropriate for all ages.

I honestly think it's ok- I have never see people use it, because, well, it's a vegetable.
If you see it being used inappropriately, report it. Otherwise, it's fine.

No support.
Every emoji can be potentially misused to represent something inappropriate. Does that mean we have to remove all the emojis?

True, but it's especially exclusive for the Eggplant emoticon. No support.

I don't really see any point to this. Even if the emoji is removed, somebody could use the exact same euphemism just by posting the word “eggplant,” as well as any other, similar euphemism.

… No support, everything can be interpreted in an inappropriate way. Everyone sees what they want to see.Actually, eggplants are fruits. I honestly think it's ok- I have never see people use it, because, well, it's a vegetable.

We shouldn't start blocking because of hypothetical situations, and on a heavily moderated children's website, I doubt this happens at all.

Just because this emoji exists on Scratch doesn't mean it'll be misused.
Heck, just because this emoji exists on Scratch doesn't mean that it'll be used in general. When was the last time you've even seen someone use this emoji on Scratch, or any of the food emojis in general (aside from things like pizza)?
This is a kid's site. Much of the younger audience wouldn't even know what it's meant to show when misused.

I got a lot of compliments on my last signature, and I think that's kind of strange. I wrote it when I was 12 and it wasn't very good. I acted like PS4 controllers were the epitome of human technology, for God's sake! I tried too hard to be philosophical, or maybe I tried too hard to be funny, or maybe it was something else. But that signature was bad. It wasn't good. It might be strange for some of you to hear this, seeing as this site is full of kids, but 12-year-old me was practically a baby. I think that's something you realise when you grow up. That you're always better than you were last year. I was looking through old Skype messages between me and a friend of mine from when we were 12, and as I read them, I couldn't stop thinking, “Woah. I was the worst.” It's important to know that you're always the worst. I can almost guarantee that future you is thinking negatively of you right now, just as future me is thinking negatively of me. It's important not to let that get to you. Remember to stay in the present. Tomorrow hates you, but it can't hurt you because you'll never get to tomorrow. When I was 10 or 11, I remember seeing the world very cynically. I thought that human life was inherently selfish, and that we were only put on this planet to destroy it. I'm so glad 10 or 11 year old me is gone, because 17 year old me would NOT get along with that kid.
